I think you can piece together why "Boston College" is called Boston College. As for the rankings. Your business school may be ranked 34th, but ours is ranked 16th in the nation. So, your bragging right is that ONE of your schools is ranked what our school is ranked overall? I'm impressed...do tell more.

Anyways, I don't know much about UG rankings, but I'm applying for law school and BU and BC have pretty much the same law school rank and admissions statistics. The only real differences I've read is that BU is in the heart of the city whereas BC is in the suburbs of Newton, in a rather fashionable area. Both are great schools, so don't fret about the choice. :)

@kaioak37 You have to take into account the number of people that apply. Also, a school having a small student body could also mean that there were a lot of people who got accepted that decided not to go.
BC is the irish-American school that only accepts white, preppy students. BU is the international school that is open to all with high academic standards.

Look when you come down to it, BC is not superior to BU in every way and BU is not superior to BC in every way. I admit I go to BU and I didnt get into BC, but I absolutely love BU, and its connection to the city, I think I would have gone here anyway even if BC accepted me. But BC has got a lot of great programs too, it is a nice place to go to college regardless of the fact that its not in the city. And yes I love messeing around during the hockey games, but I harbor no personal dislike to BC

Neither college should get too cocky.. It was not that long ago that BOTH were mainly local commuter schools (and more affordable). BC is more famous nationally now because they have a Division I football program.. BU dropped football. .
BC has a more traditional an prettier campus. BU has an urban campus. BC doesn'tt have a medical college and just recently added startup engineering. BU has had these for decades.
they are both good schools for different reasons. get over it you divas.
