I hope some ignorant people realize that this is in an isolated island in Indonesia and that they can not grow that many crops, so they depend on sea life and because of big fishing companies not much fish are left. There is also a fact that they have been doing this for 600 years, also remember one whale can feed a whole village for months and hunting a whales are not everyday thing. They are hunting for food not research or for black market on the value of their meat, but for survival.

Why are people "disliking" this? I'm assuming it's because they just killed a whale. Well, life is life, whether it be an ant, a human, a gargantuan whale, or even a carrot. Life also sustains life, so for any life to continue, another life must be taken. Look at it this way, this entire village will survive for months off a single life - this whale. A single first-world westerner takes several lives everyday (chickens, cows, veggies), but no one complains about that. Grow up, Hippies.

Whale hunting is a horrible thing... but you have to look at it from both sides. The people have to eat something. I wouldn't blame them - they're only trying to survive. It's the people who market whale products for profit that drive me insane. THAT is where the problem lies.
