Thanks again for the comment, Trip! I'm glad you like it. No, I haven't heard Doc Watson's version of this tune. I'll have to start looking for it now!
I'm playing a Hering 1923 Vintage harp in the key of D on a G harp.
Mr. Whitter recorded this tune twice. In the first version (which was recorded in 1923), he seems to be playing on a Db harp as far as I know. In the second version (recorded in 1926), he is playing a D harp. However, since Db harps were not generally available back then, it could be possible that the 1923 version had been slowed down somewhere in the recording process.
Hey Dave! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be been playing this harmonica in this video. It had a very leaky 3 draw, and you helped me fix it a few months ago.
Hey thanks for the comment. you are great yourself. Really got the Henry Whitter sound down. Great to hear some great pre war harp. Keep the flag flying.

I didn't know there were two recordings of this song. I've learned one that he did on a higher harp than you have endeavored here. Good work.

I really enjoyed this.
I was also excited to see the reference to Henry Whitter, my grandmother's brother.
Keep up the good work.

do you use a D or a Db harp here?
I believe Mr Whitter had a Db one at least that's what I'd been told...
