  • this is very amazing! I would buy this game if you were to release it

  • @MajinWamu Thanks Majin. It will be freeware when finished! :)

  • @Foppygames hey thanks for subscribing to my channel. Your quite the inspiration. I do have one question that I've been trying to seek out with no luck. Do you know how to hide all your files (Sprites, Audio, etc.) so people can just go into your files and steal your stuff after distributing it. Like I've read articles on it's possible to combine it all to an executable if you zip it, but a lot of the article don't make much sense to me. If you can help me I'd appreciate it very much,

  • @MajinWamu In my latest games I didn't hide the files, but in older games such as Moon Bandits I used "Terabit Data Packer". It is used to pack the media files into one datafile, which is then read from by the Blitz 3D program. Searching for Terabit Data Packer on Google gives a link to a tutorial and download on Blitz Basement.

  • @Foppygames thank you so much! Yeah the guy who makes the sprites to our games doesnt like the fact that his work is left in the open, so I've been searching for a solution. Thank you soooooo much!!!! Do you copyright your work? its actually quite simple and pretty cheap. only $30 a project. but thank you so muc for the reply! Are you a indivual or a team? I used to be a lone wolf but recently i've set up a team

  • @MajinWamu I work alone but I often use music or sound effects made by others! As far as copytights go, I think it is not necessary to register it; when you make something you automatically own the copyright over it. I hope the data packing program works out for you.

  • @Foppygames well true, most people don't know that everything you make is legally yours...until someone with a better lawyer steals it. It's happened in the past. Copyright also isnt 100% but it's like double protection. but nothing is 100%. go on the ipod app store and youll find like 100 games exactly the same. :p So I guess your right, it could be a waste of money...I just contradicted myself :p ...anyways I took a look at it, but because of Christmas week and church I haven't been able to...

  • @MajinWamu ...(ran out of space)...to go through the entire tutorial. haha its a pretty big process :) but I thank you so much for helping me out with that. Most developer just dont care these days to help one another out. I might be able to learn the entire process today cuz I have plenty of time...btw me and my team are planing to post a demo of exclusive levels to our game. Ill comment you when its out. You should download it

  • @Foppygames hello again foppygames. I tried to download the Terabit data packer but the link is dead. Is there a way you can lend me the install file or at least the program? please :)

  • @MajinWamu I think I have the exe of the packer here. It was a freeware program so I assume it's no problem sharing it! You can find my e-mail address on my foppygames website, if you contact me I can reply and attach the file.

  • @Foppygames thank you fro your help but I was actually able to find it 5 minutes after I sent this message. Thank you for your help. I may need some help with the program in the future so I may ask for help. Is it super easy to use?

  • @MajinWamu Yes, it is not very difficult.

  • @Foppygames alright I have one last question. I havent ever had this problem before but my resent game is a pretty big game. Each level seems to work smoothly on my two laptops but on vistas and xps two of the levels seem to slow down the game. Have you ever encountered this problem and how did you fix it? I thought I created it so the game would work evenly with all my levels and it does on my two laptops but do you know other techniques used to let the game work smoothly on all computers?

  • @MajinWamu With Blitz3D there were some problems regarding flickering sprites on newer systems. These were solved in a recent update so it's always best to get the newest version. (Also a good idea when using Blitz Max.) Apart from that, in my game I can see slowdown occurring when lots of particles/objects are created and/or visible on the screen. I plan to add a limit on the number of particles to be active at the same time, for as far as these particles are purely cosmetic.

  • @Foppygames well for cmy newest game it seems to slow down on certain stages. Do you have any idea to fix it. I believe my Blitz3D is at the latest version

  • @MajinWamu Perhaps too many objects being created/drawn? Or a memory leak, where not all objects are deleted properly? It could also be certain special effects that are used in those levels.

  • This is really looking great and I can wait to play it. the death of an enemy seems a little weird though.. how they just disappear. maybe a dead body that fades out or into the ground?

  • I have to add something like that, yes. I think I will let the enemies explode or fall to the ground in pieces.

  • I was talking to my brother not too long ago about Airborne Ranger, and how there deserves to be a new game in a similar style. So, thank you for this!

I love the art style, and I'm looking forward to playing this!

Make sure TIGsource, Offworld, DIYgamer and Rock Paper Shotgun get updates on your progress. This deserves more hype.

  • I think it would be better if the area you can't see is black, just my personal opinion. :)

Other than that it looks like great fun!

  • I personally don't like the ennemies to pop in and out of the map like this, but othermise nice 2D game :)

  • Thanks for your comment. I tend to agree. It's a compromise between the line-of-sight realism of 3D and the classic top-down action of 2D. :)

  • I like that you can't see the enemies until they are in direct line of sight, taking a 3D aspect and applying it to 2D. also, keep the style simple, this looks awesome for it!

  • Thanks Damien. I am quite happy with the effect, as I agreed with in the post above it can be a bit messy to have sprites appear and disappear but it is required for ultra realism. :D Also good to hear you like the style.

  • wow... you made some really good progress since the previous video....thats definitely a promising project! keep up the great work!

  • Thanks, I will ! :) I add something new almost every day. Or at least almost every week. :P
