Pope Pius XI wrote a papal encyclical called "With Burning Anxiety", in 1937. It condemned Nazi policies as being contrary to the laws of God. Go ahead and look it up if you don't believe it.
Don't forget that Pope Pius XII was praised by many Jews for his efforts to save Jews from death camps. Albert Einstein being one of them. Another, Israel Anton Zoller, was so grateful to Pius XII, he actually converted to Catholicism and even took the Pope's first name, Eugenio, as his baptismal name.
My auntr llived in a small town in Bavaria, near the Austrian border. It's a small quaint town with many devout Catholics. She told me that when Hitler was in power, he had all Chiratian symbols removed" crosses, pictures of Christ, Virgin mary and to be replaced with images of himself and the evil nazi sign. He even changed their youth group(like boys or girls scouts), names to "Hitler Yugen". It was messed up. My uncle was sent to Russian front at 18 and never returned.Hitler was evil!!

My aunt lived in a small town in Bavaria, near Austria. It was a quaint little town, the people were very Catholic. when Hitler gained power, all pictures of Christianity, Christ, the cross, Virgin Mary had to be removed and replaced with Hitler's picture, and their evil symbols. The children's youth groups had to be changed to the "hitler yugen". It was messed up. My aunt was a very little girl when this happened. It was messed up.

This video is the rare instance of an objective use of undeniable facts. The point about excommunication is well made. The encyclical you mention was Mit Brennender Sorge which Pacelli did write. Its important for a number of reasons. First, the Catholic Church wrote and still writes its encyclicals in Latin. This was written in German as if to further emphasize its meaning. Second, it is a blatant criticism of Nazism. This video does justice to Pope Pius XII and his efforts to save the Jews.
I don't think the church really supported Nazism, but the Vatican at the time was in a very difficult situation - they made the decision to try to advise Hitler, in the hopes that he would not commit the terrible crimes he did. The Church has not the force to stand up to an industrialized nation and it's armies, so can only hope the good words and gracious teachings of Jesus Christ can help avert disasters. The Church was not complicit in any way with Nazism, and Nazi war crimes.
With 1 search, I found pics of Hitler in church, Hitler leabing a church, priests giving a Nazi salute and Hitler shacking hands with THE POPE Puis XII who dubbed him the saviour of Germany. A search for "pictures of nazi catholics" yielded even more proof...
You can be easily mislead with propaganda websites. Hitler was leaving the Garnisonkirche Marine Church in Wilhelmshaven, a Protestant church. The king of Saudi Arabia, as well as the Dali Lama have been photographed shaking hands with the Pope. Does that make them Catholic as well? Because I bet that would shock a lot of Tibetan Buddhists and a lot of Saudi citizens (it is ruled by Sharia law and all)
Hitler rejected Christianity as well as his Catholic faith, he did not attend mass, he did not have a confirmation. And Vatican during the war saved many Jews by granting them with citizenship. Hitler even had a plan to invade Vatican but I don't remember the name.

Very factual and true video. Hitler was a believer in the occult. Also the church in no way supported nazi's . While they may have wanted fascists to win in spain because they were better towards the Church, they were not Nazi supporters.
As a proud and practising catholic I want to make something very clear"we do not worship the Virgin Mary or the saints" I ask every protestant or any other none Catholic to stop saying something so false. I understand that some of you may have pastors or your own parents that makes such ridiculous but please I as a Catholic know what the Church teaches and as for Unusfides everythying we do in the Catholic Church is very biblical.
It does sound like catholics do worship Mary. It sounds too much like the Mother-child worship going on in Babylon.
All Mary was, was a woman that was blessed enough to experience carrying Christ in her womb, an experience no other woman would ever have. But she isn't God's mother. She can't act as a mediator. Praying to her does no good cause she is just a human like you or me. She experienced something special, but is no more special than anyone else.
Whether is sounds like it or not the Doctrine of the Catholic faith states clearly that we worship no one except the Blessed Trinity.
You say that our prayers have no effect if we pray to humans that are in heaven. This is absolutely illogical in light of Scripture and basic Christian teaching.
The Bible, in 2 Timothy states "There is ONE mediator between God and man, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ".
So it seems perfectly clear to me we don't need to pray to dead saints. But essentyially what people like to do when they pray to Mary, is elevate her to a level closer to Christ, sense we are then asking her to mediate. But the Bible clearly says ONE MEDIATOR.
Did you watch my other movie and read the link provided in that movie?
If you would have then you would not have made this comment which has nothing really to do with the Church's teaching on Marian Devotion or devotion to the Saints.
Stumbled onto this, yet will comment. You can believe what you want, but take a good look at the WWII photos of Catholic priests blessing the armies who killed other so-called Christians (French, British, American, etc), and mingling with government officials from radical governments like Italy and Germany. I dare you to explain that. Do something different for a change, and read the bible, especially John 13:35; "by this all will know you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves"
Again, you are saying things about the Catholic Church that aren't true. This shows your lack of knowledge of the Catholic faith and reduces the credibility of your claims.
How and where does the Catholic Church say that Muslims are saved?
All the photes taken with members of the Clergy and the members of the Nazi party all have there own simple explinations. For example many of these pictures where taken before it was realized that Hitler was a raging son of Lucifer.
In the same view of these claims if there where photos taken of Neville Chamberlain and Hitler it would have looked as if he(Chamberlain) where a Nazi.
Catechism 841: The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.
You should watch a video on here called "Antipope Benedict" or "Antipope John Paul II" It was made by a catholic and points out heresy according to catholic teaching.
The quote in the vid at 4:03 is an excellent example of being forced to go against your own views for political reasons. Cooperation in the political realm perhaps contributed to the escape of who knows how many people who otherwise would have had to take a "shower". As a protestant I must say good work so far here, now I have to watch the rest of it.
Okay, that's all just fine. But, what I don't get is why the Catholic church still claims to be Christian and practice things that contradict what the bible teaches. Jesus himself told people not to worship his mother! You all put her on a pedistal higher than his.
Sorry, I didn't mean to come across that way. We prayed to Mary at my father-in-laws funeral. They have a statue of her in their yard. All the Catholic churches and schools around here are named after her. How is that not worship? Enlighten me.

I think I can save us both a lot of argument here. I believe that the bible is the God-breathed final word on everything and it should be the ultimate authority in the church, not any person or any other doctrine. How could anyone be theocratic and not be even slightly political? That seems like a contradiction in terms to me.
It would be a truly absurd notion for the Church to avoid forms of politics, much less shun all political encounters all together.
Should she not speak out against the many injustices found in most forms governments? Abortion, socialism, and Nazism to name a few.

UnusFides 3 years ago
encompasses all of mankind, yes I agree. God wants hindus, vodoo practicers, shamans etc... to all turn to Jesus for salvation.
But there is only One way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ. Wide is the road to hell, straight and narrow is the way to heaven.
We should never broaden the doctrine so much that people living in willful rejection of God are saved too.
God gave mankind a free will.
LiquidSmooth 3 years ago
I agree with what you are saying here. That being said, stop broadening Catholic Doctrine.
The Catechism says "The plan of salvation", that doesn't mean they are saved. They would first have to adhere to the ways of Christ.
