Haha thats awesome! Where is the firmwear for the 5d though. I've been holding back on buying a 7D so i can get a full frame camera but still no sign of the firmwear from Canon!
I saw this update yesterday on dpreview. The only thing that popped into my mind, was the previous vid you made lol. then you came out with this one. Priceless lol.
AWESOME! This sequel was even more hilarious than the first.! "...1DmkIV Means like Kino Flos aren't needed." and "Crop Sensor was the new full frame they said" Classic...
It depends on what you're doing. Also note that the 5D mk II's 24p firmware update is not set to drop till sometime in early 2010 so if you have shoots to do now you might be better off not getting a 5D....I prefer the 5D, especially given the new 24p announcement...but then again I prefer the GH1 to both of them (not always in image but generally, as a camera, yes,) so maybe I have no credibility.
First I said to myself "Oh man really Philip, you actually made one of those hitler angry videos" Then I watched it... an I have to say this is my favorite one. Oh gosh it's hilarious all the camera lingo makes it so hilarious. You never let down Philip Bloom. Now I'm so glad I waited and didn't by the 7D. So glad!
"Great low light doesn't mean you don't light..." "that's easy to say you're an editor!" Hahahahahahahahahaha......wow I'm mostly an editor and I DO SAY THAT.
Of course the 5D is taking use of CMOS. Please, the whole thing was just a joke...
I am not talking about the 1D mk IV. It's obvious that I was referring to the 5D Mark II which sensor records at the 35mm full frame (36x24mm).
Please don't mention 35mm motion picture cameras. I myself am a cinematographer and I can ensure you that you don't have a clue what you'r talking about.
The only format being similar to the 5D is the 3-perf Super35 format, which is not the most common in the industry.
I think I do know what I'm saying, allow me to clarify:
Yes the 5D Mark II is full frame and uses a CMOS sensor, so I was complaining about you saying Full frame > CMOS when CMOS can be full frame, as it is in the 5D...just plain didn't make sense.
As for the crop factor thing I was saying that 35mm motion picture cameras have a crop factor compared to a full frame (35mm still) camera, like the 5D or a film SLR. So yes, correct, the 5D is not similar to any motion picture format.
"I shoot weddings and they are never lit!!!"
That one hit me, haha. It's always a problem T_T. I shoot weddings as well, once in a while.

Except that you can use any "fast wide prime" on the 7D, it just won't be so wide.

Excellent one Phil ! I thought it was true at the beginning..
The next one should be about Nikon giving up on video challenge with lame film options on their new cameras... ;)

Who wants CMOS when you get Full Frame?
7D...tsk...tsk
ziryab92 2 years ago
Ummm...you realize the 5D uses a CMOS chip and that CMOS has nothing to do with sensor size relative to itself....are you referring to APS-C?
You also realize that the 1D mk IV god camera has a crop factor, as does every 35mm motion picture camera you've ever seen a movie shot on?
