5:11 i remember watchin that bit when it reveals captain black, it use to scare me as a kid when it zoomed in onto his face, i dnt know y i hated that bit, guess it was cause helooked so evil lol
In the "control" room at work not only can I choose the theme music to accompany each staff member throughout the day, but also the music to "punctuate" the scenes. We have a good sound system, and I often opt for the "BOOM BOOM BOOM BA BA BOOM" from Captain Scarlet. It frightens some people though.
Didn't the guy who helped question the knocked out security guard also play John, the one in space in Thunderbird 5 ? Er, like he's a real person ! Ha ha.
I never noticed as a kid but Captain Scarlet speaks like Cary Grant.
How on earth...haha!...does the series ever end. I thought that they just ended the series with no finale...or have i just not seen the episode? can anyone help me?
Oops - found a booboo. Geiger counters only detect C14, which is a very long-lived isotope. They don't detect the really short-lived ones like Tritium 13 or whatever, so they can't use them to track Captain Black. Luckily, little kids don't realize this.
Lieutenant Green isn't actually a lieutenant. You see, he lives next door to Colonel White in the Colonel's apartment block, so he's Colonel White's left-tennant. His real rank is captain
lol. 'I see from this you were injured' 'Yes sir, only slightly, the doct just duck taped my arm back on and look, fine now!' 'Oh how modest of you Scarlet!'
I have all the eppies of this show MY FAVE and Stingray too, with all today's technology, they can't touch this! THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL BRILLIANT!! Thanx for posting my friend. :-)
That's bloody great mate I wont tell u what I paid for mine eeeeek, I have capt scarlet too all of them I treasure it so clever stuff back then without tech, they used their brains much more creativeness back then than there is now yeah?
I personally think that Thunderbirds was the pinacle of achievement technically, but the stories and addictiveness was lacking compared to Stingray and Captain Scarlet.
Shame all of the models got destroyed. flipping BBC. Same with thunderbirds. The oil tanker still exists (for lots of ££££) as does the blue bus from Tbirds
some of them. Scot Tracy exists in full still. Scarlets Head is still knocking around. A museum in Japan has several of them. Its mostly Heads and things, bodies werent as important. The BBC had this thing where they destroyed props and things to save space and money. The fire engines and martian space probe transporter from tbirds, and i think all the angels aircraft were burnt, not sure about the angels. Most of the extras such as major reeves and the world president were burnt or skipped.
Well I have the whole series of Stingray and on there it shows the puppets are alive and well at least on that show, they are prob worth a mint yeah? Thanx for info my friend.
To bad that they actualy do such a thing and destroyed all those puppets and props! instead of keep all that on a museum to honor gery anderson they burn those just to make space? asholes.I see some pieses on ebay but im not sure if those are actualy original!
yeah dude I used to leave the sci-fi channel on when I went to sleep and this shit would wake me up at like 4am and freak me out...I actually started to wake up to watch it.
I know what you mean. My Library had these on 16mm and I begged my dad to get them even though they were 20 years old at the time.. Man when that dude from the Mysterons started talking that was it! My Dad had to shut the projector down!!
Man! I remember first seeing this in 1995 when it was being rerun on...BBC2 I think? Anyway, CLASSIC! Thanks for sticking these on mate; another example of awesome British television. ;)
Why Gerry Anderson did the new series in CGI, I don't know. It would of been so much if he'd of done it with puppets again, but with CGI enhancements for less restrictive movement, etc. but definitely sticking to miniature pyrotechnics and models for all the explosions, NOT CGI created effects, which I hate with a passion. Turns out apparently, it was even harder doing the new series in CGI than with puppets.
TOTALLY agree with you there man. Its like shooting with film over digital, sure digital has almost PERFECT quality but with film you an integral sense that its a representation of something and colours, textures are richer with film. Digital sucks. :)
Yeah I agree, it is mainly the reason today's movies are crap compared to older ones. You are right, textures are much richer and better with film than digital which looks more like a documentary! Yuck!
Some guy Captain Scarlet like.

Is it just me or..(I know it isn't true) does the voice of Captain Scarlet sound remarkably like Cary Grant?
