There's no point in arguing what's better. Obviously, there's always gonna something better in the future. When the Matrix came out, people got very excited after seeing it. Now Inception comes out, everyone's excited. Sure they may have something familiar with each other, but that's like saying all the superhero movies are the same (The individuals got their powers somewhere). Regardless, The Matrix was trippy when I was a little kid, and now Inception makes me want to be a writer-director. :D

@TheLosthigh i didn't say anything revenge or murder. Every movie has revenge or murder. The idea of a fantastic world that you go into in your mind. This is Matrix 101. Avatar ripped it off too. You control the avatars with your mind. This is a good movie, but it is still a rip off.

@hypercarbon Although even with what you have said, the concept of the matrix didn't solely come from the writers, they stole that too, from a comic book called the invisibles, who could control a astral projection of themselves to (if i remember correctly) go back in time. Not only that but the book neuromancer is believed to have first coined the word matrix as a cyberspace you could go into. (Just for a fun fact, did you know that originally terminator and the matrix where part of one story?)

@TheLosthigh Yes this is better than the matrix (for me at least, only because of the great acting and directing.), ALTHOUGH the matrix is still awesome. I loved both. They ARE similar on certain aspects, BUT very small though. OVER ALL they are completely different. One takes place in a dream state, in other peoples minds. The other takes place in software, a world inside a program that robots made to maintain the humans sleeping.

@TheLosthigh Don't agree, many movies and books implemented this thought, which even the ancient Greeks and persians had, way better than inception. Inception is never the less a good movie, but to be clear, cogito ergo sum (I think, therefore I am) is one of the oldest question of humanity. I suppose all of you saw Matrix part 1 and Shutter Island, so check this out too: Memento, eXistanZ, What Dreams may come and Rashomon.
