I totally agree. It's a good thing if women decide to cover themselves and dress in modesty. But men should not rely on women's modesty to avoid sin themselves. You see what I mean? It is a deep misconception among non muslims as well as some muslims. It is not required to change your name when you convert to islam. Historically speaking, When the prophet changed the name of one the converts was that converts name was something offensive or conflicts with islam. Many muslims do not have an Arab name Michel Wolfe, Jeffery Lang, etc. If we only used Arab names, does that mean arabs have better names for muslim compared to the whole world? Not all Arab names are Islamic.

Islam tells MEN as well as WOMEN to cover the body properly. Look at the 90% most viewed videos on youtube and advertisement world. They are all objectifying women. An evidence that women are subject to attraction. That why women need to hide their hair as well, as men get sexually provoked much quicker than women, AND men have physical dominance (hence a probable threat) over women.
Islam tells to cover the body, any objection? then you are free not to choose Islam.

Try actually speaking to a Muslim Woman. Ask them why they wear a veil or wear loosely fitted clothing that cover most of their body. Don't be scared to ask them, us Muslims like to clarify things :)
I'm sure you'll find a common answer from the sisters -
They want to be judged on their personality not for their looks. The "Content of their Character" as Martin Luther King put it.
They dress modestly because it's what they want to do. And may Allah bless them for doing so. They are beautiful

I totally agree. It's a good thing if women decide to cover themselves and dress in modesty. But men should not rely on women's modesty to avoid sin themselves. You see what I mean? Men need to stand up and practice some restraint and discipline on their parts. It's a two way street. I have a Muslim friend in South Africa and she loves wearing a veil. That's so beautiful to me, but are all women wearing veils to be modest, or to remove temptation from men's path???

If men and women both cover modestly and decently, it is good both ways. And both should lower their gaze and not stare at opposite gender. Needless staring causes lustful thoughts.
Women are manifold attractive as compared to men, so women need to take more precaution while men should have sense of courtesy and do not stare at women and should control their thoughts too.

It is a deep misconception among non muslims as well as some muslims. It is not required to change your name when you convert to islam. Historically speaking, When the prophet changed the name of one the converts was that converts name was something offensive or conflicts with islam. Many muslims do not have an Arab name Michel Wolfe, Jeffery Lang, etc. If we only used Arab names, does that mean arabs have better names for muslim compared to the whole world? Not all Arab names are Islamic.

God is one and for all humanity. God does not need to rest. God is High Exalted and does not need a son. God forgives whenever HE wants to. God sends prophets to every corner in the world so they can spread the Oneness of God. God has not made religion difficult to understand. God does not have human attributes. God is Just. good on you.keep your name.i kept my name aswell. and you know its become a cultural practice of the muslims to automatically change their name when converting...however the not all of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) companions changed their name..Bilal..Umar all of these companions were born with that name.I think its a good thing to keep your name because 1) it shows respect to ur parents cause they chose that name 2) it shows that you dont have to become a whole different person.
