At 1;50 is the best one ever. The Andy Williams Show is truly one of the best shows ever made. It ran from 1962 to 1971 Now's thats good tv and none of that Jersey Shore excrement that's rotting our brains and decaying our country with stupidity.
@markedwardindc It wasn't on very long. Extremely popular, but highly controversial for its time. He got tired of dealing with censors and dealing with the network (NBC) all the time and after a while simply decided to purposely create sketches to make the network cancel the show. The show included the first TV appearances of Marsha Warfield, Sandra Bernhard and Robin Williams, among others. It's available on DVD now, if you want to check it out. The inspiration for the Dave Chappelle show.
@elc1960 Was Pryor REALLY taking that much out of the ratings of its competition, the #1 and #2 shows that season (1977-78)--LAVERNE & SHIRLEY and HAPPY DAYS?
@tomservo56954 No, because they pretty much ruled that time slot. Pryor's audience was largely urban at that time, but the show did pretty well among Black and Hispanic audiences. "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley" were a ratings juggernaut back then, but their core audience was predominately white (as were the large majority of Nielsen families at that time).
The Smothers Brothers Show Aired On Fridays. at 9:30 PM on CBS it Aired on saturday evenings at 7:00 PM Before the Jackie Gleason Show. on CBS Affilliate KIRO-TV Channel 7 in seattle, washington,on september 18,1965.

"THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS SHOW" (1965-'66) was a filmed sitcom about Dick the publishing executive- and Tommy, his brother of an angel, who often got him into "heavenly" messes while trying to earn his wings; it was primarily sponsored by Alberto-Culver, who refused to change the format when CBS wanted to scrap the show before its premiere and feature the brothers in a comedy/variety show- "THIS is the show we bought", was A-C's edict {as well as alternate sponsor American Tobacco [Tareyton]}.
At the end of "I LOVE LUCY", the sponsor often reminded viewers to watch their other programs during the week ;"RACKET SQUAD" appeared on Thursday nights at 10pm(et) on CBS during 1952 [in some areas, the series was seen via "delayed telecast"; smaller affiliates often scheduled another program in its time period, so they showed a 16mm film print on another night and/or time]. "THE JACK PAAR PROGRAM" (1962-'65) was a Friday night prime-time edition [10pm(et)] of his previous late-night series.

Tobacco drug advertising should have NEVER been allowed on TV or anywhere else. It's illegal to poison people, no matter how slowly you do it.

@GOOSEYGOOSE9 How did CBS let KIRO get away with delay broadcasting GOMER PYLE, the #2 show that season (1965-66)?
tomservo56954 3 months ago

@fromthesidelines Amazing...for once CBS and the Smothers Brothers were on the same side vis a vis content (Tommy called the sitcom "a stinker").
