At 1;50 is the best one ever. The Andy Williams Show is truly one of the best shows ever made. It ran from 1962 to 1971 Now's thats good tv and none of that Jersey Shore excrement that's rotting our brains and decaying our country with stupidity.

RIchard Pryor had his own show? Why do I not remember that?

@markedwardindc It wasn't on very long. Extremely popular, but highly controversial for its time. He got tired of dealing with censors and dealing with the network (NBC) all the time and after a while simply decided to purposely create sketches to make the network cancel the show. The show included the first TV appearances of Marsha Warfield, Sandra Bernhard and Robin Williams, among others. It's available on DVD now, if you want to check it out. The inspiration for the Dave Chappelle show.

@tomservo56954 No, because they pretty much ruled that time slot. Pryor's audience was largely urban at that time, but the show did pretty well among Black and Hispanic audiences. "Happy Days" and "Laverne & Shirley" were a ratings juggernaut back then, but their core audience was predominately white (as were the large majority of Nielsen families at that time).

"THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS SHOW" (1965-'66) was a filmed sitcom about Dick the publishing executive- and Tommy, his brother of an angel, who often got him into "heavenly" messes while trying to earn his wings; it was primarily sponsored by Alberto-Culver, who refused to change the format when CBS wanted to scrap the show before its premiere and feature the brothers in a comedy/variety show- "THIS is the show we bought", was A-C's edict {as well as alternate sponsor American Tobacco [Tareyton]}.
