  • The 12-string of the riff was thought of on a whim by George

  • @killermuffin1997 tom petty told me that years ago

  • @redgrapeskins Lol yeah, Rolling Stone is a good magazine.

  • los beatles son lo mejor, son impresionantes

  • Is this a cover or an original?

  • @MrMGD92 George Harrison came up with the riff, according to Tom Petty from the recent Rolling Stone article on the 100 Greatest Guitarists, so it's original.

Bet you weren't expecting an informative response!

  • @Benefit1970 O,h thank you yes your right the response is very informative isan`t it? lol

  • @MrMGD92 lil wayne haz moar talent then tha beatlez mang

  • @JustinBieberGangsta LOL,you still can`t troll. :)

  • @JustinBieberGangsta First off, you're name is JustinBieberGangster, that is enough said.... Secondly, you're an illiterate fuck with horrible taste in music. Third, Lil' Wayne needs auto-tune to sound good. FOURTH AND FOR MOST, If you look at the top 100 artist of all time on the Rolling stones list, look who's number one, yes, The Beatles. Next time think before you post on any Beatles video.

  • @JustinBieberGangsta THE BEATLES KICK LIL WAYNES BUTT!!! LIL WAYNE IS JUST A STUCK UP IDIOT WHO WANTS ATTENTION READ A BEATLES BIOGRAPHY THEY AUCTUALLY TRY UNLIKE WAYNE!!! YES I JUST WENT THERE!!

  • <3 love this song <3

  • How 4 people could do that?

  • Love the rhythm on this. Beatles. Best ever. Period.

  • Yeah, cowbell is a genius sound for a stereo production. And it strikes me how the bar chords are so punk long ere punk came about. Something really raw about the Liverpool sound. Gritty.

  • B side to "Can't buy me love".....great song

  • Forget all the dislike cr@p tw@ts.

Everybodies gre-eeen because I'm the one that won your love

but if it se-eems you're talking that way then laugh in my face

    What a tune

  • @CalamityCameron It's "But if they'd seen you talking that way, they'd laugh in my face"

  • @BFBCFTW Thanks

  • Hey Now Give peace a chance don't yell on a Beatles song come on now you can't do that

  • Once again, this is John with his head tilted back, a chip on his shoulder, chewing gum, and singing some powerful rock. This was HIS early album. He wrote all but a few of the songs, and was in a groove. Paul had a slack period here, and John seemed to keep it going with some of his best work.

  • John had been skilled enough to take the meandering guitar solo back into tune just within its final two bars...

  • @diamondguard george not john

  • @mirelurk1 no John did the solo on this song.

  • have you guys seen this kid that sung this song as a cover he's wearing a green shirt and playin a 12 string guitar... i think... well anyways, hes really really good!

  • I don't care what anyone thinks... this is early punk rock! I'm a metal head and I can still appreciate what the Beatles did for "rock n roll".

  • I have been watching A Hard Days Night since before I can remember. Every time I watch it I get another pun or joke. I have love the Beatles so much that in the credits I can tell whose head is whose. Dang I was born 4 decades to late.

  • The three people who "disliked" this song probably like "American Idol."

  • 3 Personas tuvieron un mal día cuando escucharon la canción. Solo se le puede dar no me gusta si estas de mal humor, por que hermano, esto es oro puro VIVAN LOS BEALTES (=

  • This band is ridiculous...and so are some of the comments I've read.

  • @AAAbstractJack soo....why ru here?? people can have opinions, but you dont see me or SMART Beatles fans always bashing modern music for no reason on their vidoes do u?? if ur gonna have opinions, respect other's opinions!! didnt you learn in, like, kindergarden to treat others as you want to be treated?? (sry im a bad typer :P but thank you still for not going crazy and, like, cussing them out ;p )

  • @chase123devine What I was saying is that this band is ridiculously good. And some of the comments

    are ridiculous and funny.

  • @AAAbstractJack ohh ok sry i'm a 'bit' obsessed :3 ;p (lol a LOT actually )

  • @AAAbstractJack You are stupid. Why come to a listen to a song by a band you don,t like and then critisize the fans of the band for liking them?I don,t care what music you like or don,t like thats your opinion but your just being stupid with your comments. Why don,t you fuck off you idiot.

  • @MrMGD92 Obviously you didn't read my reply to "chase123devine"

"MrMGD92" when referring to idiot, try looking in the mirror.

Before shooting off your stupid mouth try getting all of the info.

    Wanker...

  • the cowbell does a lot for the song. that's it. Im buying a cowbell off ebay.

  • @moo2thetube ringo :D

  • John is the best rock singer ever. period.

  • A great tune. Classic John. Tight backup vocals by Paul and George.

  • ジョンのナイスヴィロードヴォーカル~初期のイカス天才ブギロック~怪物ビートルズ~"YOU CAN'T DO THAT"~アメイジング!!

  • A dislike button on a Beatles video? Look, I told you before, YOU CAN'T DO THAT!

  • @raintalonwindclan Oh my God. That is the best comment I have ever read.

  • @raintalonwindclan Epic user with and epic comment IS EPIC!!!!!!! :)

  • @hooliganmoni Lol

  • lmfao they got good ish

  • loved this tune, brilliant song lennon was brilliant here.

  • when i sing people say i sound like John

  • NEEDS MORE COWBELL!

  • @bigredoneder HILLARIOUS.

  • @bigredoneder yes indeed

  • 3 peoples disliked but they suposed to can't do that !

  • money thats what i want and ticket to ride, thats what i hear...

  • YOU

    CAN'T

    DO

    THAT

    GIRL

    !

    JOHN

    SAID

    IT

  • i think this song is about john and how he felt when his fist wife would talk to other men alothugh nothing ever happened- john used to be really jeaolous :?

  • @101Becka no, its just a song, it has nothing to do with him LOL any ways it sounds amazing

  • in school me and my choir sang this for a concert so fucking epic

  • ジョン全盛期の中でなぜか影が薄いこの曲。

    僕はこれを名曲だと思うよ 中2 ケラ

  • Needs more cowbell!

  • @sakoop96 lmao!!!

  • My dad told me that the ONLY rock n' roll song that had a cowbell was "Don't Fear The Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult, it's not a bad song, but I told him that there was this and it's better than that.

  • @utahjazzman21 Oddly enough, the riff in the Blue Öyster Cult song Buck's Boogie was built off this song.....

  • OH PLEASE !!!

Punk Rock wasn't even around during the British Invasion. It is just a Dumbass Term related to idiots like Sid Viscious & the Sex Pistols !!!

  • I'MMA LET YOU FINISH and leave you flat.

  • IN MY TOP 5 BEATLES SONGS

  • Can't get better then this song!! Love The Beatles!!

  • BIG JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This doesn't sound like punk at all. It's just Rock 'n' Roll. The Closest thing they probably have to Punk is "Everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey" Since it's one of their faster songs. This may be a little more "tense" but it's not punk by any means.

  • great song

  • elegante barrio la cancion lo justo gringos broders no va ser tu kausa pues jejeje abuzando

  • MORE COWBELL!!!!!!

  • Paul's third face, priceless.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx The beatles were the most anti astablishment in the history of music, everything they did was punk in its own way, day in the life was mind blowing, the pistols and other punk bands couldnt ash the shoes of these boys, plus if you want punk listen to everybody's got something to hide on the white album ;)

  • Someone should have said this to John when he announced he was going to get "married" to a divorced Asian Woman ten years older than himself from Japan with two children. Sounds like something from the twilight zone television show I know.

  • It's not really punk.. I love the Beatles and I love punk rock, and I'm in a punk rock band, but this song is not really punk in my opinion.. The Beatles just have too much technical know-how and melody and structure and harmonies for this to be punk.

  • @JoelInedia Well... it certainly does sound more "punk-ish" than their other songs :)

Although if it had not been for them, punk rock or punk pop music we have today may not even exist... know what I mean? xD

  • @MileygirlJ12 More Punkish? How about helter Skelter? Revolution? Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey? The End? They've had some pretty fast and hard sounding songs. This isn't one of them.

  • @Friendpersonkid um... Helter Skelter isn't "punk". It would be considered heavy metal today... and Revolution would be considered hard rock.

Punk is like Green Day or Sum 41. It is a COMPLETELY different genre from heavy metal or hard rock. Although all three genres would technically be considered "rock", they are still three very distinct styles.

Yes, the Beatles have had MANY more fast and hard-sounding songs... but they wouldn't be considered "punk". This song would be. Get it..? xD

  • @MileygirlJ12 LOOLOLOLOLOL Did you really just say that Green Day and Sum 41 are punk? hahaha no. This song isn't punk. Punk is generally played fast, with loud obnxious vocals. Rudimentary Peni is punk, The Stooges are punk, The Germs are punk, the Adicts are punk. Green Day is not. Green Day has some of the spirit of punk, but it doesn't fit well in the genre. They probably are only considered punk because they call themselves punk and "looked" like punks.

  • @MileygirlJ12 Also, since you're on what it would fit into as far as music genres. This is and always will be Rock n' Roll. Rock is the general term, meaning anything from Progressive to Metal. But Rock N' Roll is a separate genre of its own, it's the beginning of what would be known as Rock. It's basically a faster version of blues. That's all what this is, rock n' roll maybe even a little bit of skiffle in there. So remember, Rock and Rock n roll. Different, Get it? xD

  • When he came to solid drumming, Ringo could do that!

  • Love the way Ringo the two hits before "You can't do that" for exemple at 0:24 and George's back voice is just amazing (what would music be without George Harrison ?)

This song is just pefect .

  • WHEN U PLAY GAMES THE MUSIC IT SHOULD BE BEATLES MUSIC I WOULD PLAY THE GAMES OVER AND OVER AGAIN WHEN I PLAY GAMES I TURN OFF THE GAME MUSIC AND PUT ON THE BEATLES MUSIC DONT LIKE THE GAME MUSIC P.S. THE BEATLES ARE HOTTTTTT I LOVE U GEORGE AND RINGO

  • is that an ultimatum?

  • THE BEATLES/You Can’t Do That

    ジョンのヴォーカルとギターが、素晴らしいの一言‼

  • soo awesome!!! gotta lovee it :D go john on lead vocals!! theyre all completely amazing!!! :D <3

  • A very observant comment. It's punk because, the original punk music/style was an attitude, not just the volume level or hair style etc., early Buddy Holly is like punk when he was emoting attitude (listen to 'Not Fade Away'). Rough around the edges, raw, primitive. Pistols did not create punk, they just made it commercial. They Pistols copied Iggy Pop and the Stooges. 60's garage bands are very 'punk' some rockabilly could be considered also...

  • Because I told you before, ooooooooohh you cant do that.

  • Ringo knew that they needed more cowbell.

  • I don't appreachate George's last picture on the cover

  • @stickman000100 why because he's smoking? that was okay back then.. before they realized the dangers of smoking.. i have to say the beatles made smoking look hot and i absolutely despise smoking.

  • justin beiber has 2 youtube accounts to dislike this

  • @stickman000100 Justin Bieber is actually a beatles fan, they were one of his inspirations, I'm not saying I like his music, his music is crap, but just saying.

  • I love how odd the notes played together for the tune at the first 3 seconds sound.

  • John played the guitar solo.. And on Get Back, Wild Honey Pie, Ballad of John and Yoko, I Want You, and others.. He played bass on songs on multiple albums, played lots of piano, electric and acoustic rhythm.

  • I <3 THIS SONG

  • John Lennon played the guitar solo

  • needs more cowbell...

  • no one knows where John Lennon is buried except for Yoko Ono (John Lennon's wife)

  • @thebeatlesfan1010 In his garden?

  • punk is all about not taking shit from other people ant I think this music perfectly describes that atitude, so yes, in that mesure, it is punk, well whatever it is I like it and beatles rule!!

  • Long Tall Sally - - This was my first record -- Why is this not released on CD

  • Good, but it needs MORE COWBELL!

  • COWBELL! I NEED THE COWBELL! (that is like the only instrument i can play and now i can play a beatles song! yay!)

  • Stones were supposed to be the "Bad Boys" and the Lads shocked the hell out of everyone with this.

  • Ei brothers and sisters

    look and listen

    Oghi - Dance Balance

    brazilian music

    very good

  • I used to play this song at full volume when I would stomp over to my bedroom after making an ass trying to conquer that one cute girl that I liked so much, but she would never turn around and pay attention to me because I wasn't one of the boys in the sports teams or in the musical marching band playing the drums. I was some nerdy geek back then after going through my trials and tribulations in life until I finally made it big. Life is good and I'm enjoying it!!! YEAH!!!!!

  • More cowbell!

  • Love it...one of their best songs ever!

  • ahh... the old cow bell.

  • So Punk RocK

  • @nailinghoney2thebee1 erm...not quite

  • @nailinghoney2thebee1 Haha, punk rock? I've never heard anyone describe a Beatles song like that, lol. I guess there's a first for everything.

Still, I think those that partake in the actual making of such music would highly disagree, being so opposed to the Beatles and such. :)

(Lol, go listen to "1977" by the Clash.)

But I get what you mean. :P

It's the same thing as when people (John included) say "Ticket to Ride" is heavy metal. Haha.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx It is puck rock! For it has the immediacy of ten dogs, oozes a nihilistic swagger and bumps along angrily, like the Pistols' NO FUN :)

  • @theunsheep Oh, of course I agree.

I'm just saying that actual PUNK musicians would probably strongly disagree. (Well, except for Glen Matlock... But that's why he was booted from the band...lol)

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx And I agree with you :) What makes it even more deliciously ironic is old Glen Matlock was (as you probably know) the main impetus of the Pistols' compositions. Never Mind The Bullocks is his masterwork, musically. I love youtube. And I'm really glad we've had this discussion.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx Actually, Glen Matlock claims that the early punk movement was inspired by John Lennon's. 'Give Me Some Truth,' and that even Johnny Rotten liked that song... although he/they would never say so publically.

  • @TheWanderinMinstrel Yeah I know. I also heard that's why Glen was booted from the band, when he made it known he liked the Beatles.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx Glen Matlock made those comments on a British T.V. programme, "Never Mind The Buzzcocks" in 1997. this was at the time that the Sex Pistols had reformed with him in the band again. The irony is that they replaced an able bass player with a guy who couldn't strum a note, but whose image worked. How pretenscious was that.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx WHOEVER THAT BAND WAS IS FULL OF CONCEITED FUCKS

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx

You know, I've always found the Clash's disdain for the Beatles funny. Seeing as they were the Beatles of punk rock. And loved the same type of arrangements in their songs including horns and a strong jazz influence implemented in almost the exact same way.

But you and I know that early rock and roll is the closest thing to punk. Listen to I Wanna Be Your Man, or Not Fade Away. (Either Holly's version or the Stones)

  • @kingdancekiller I don't really think they hated the Beatles themselves, but more so of what the Beatles symbolized. Which, in a way, I can understand. I'm a very big fan of both bands, so I can't be biased one way or another, but I think I understand where Joe and Co. are coming from.

But yeah, I agree... In the sense of the roughness and rawness of music, early rock and roll and punk rock are very similar indeed, though the subjects of the music changed a bit.... lol

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx Helter Skelter...

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx helter skelter

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx John is singing with more emotion then any punk rocker, you can just understand him and they use an extra chord.......

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx Well, I guess you can look at punk on different levels.. One is the music genre, but another one might as well be doing something extreme musically, something not approved by common unwritten ruIes of music.. I mean Beatles was obviously extreme for their time, they warped the whole music scene there.

  • @xrockxxandxxrollerxx john said it was heavy metal xD oh how times have changed

  • @nailinghoney2thebee1 The Beatles were punk in Liverpool and Hamburg, before their success.... and, well, Ringo...

  • @tauroscorp you are absolutely right. good punk tho
