  • why just they didnt pay it live??!

  • Someone I know told me to check out this band. I'm glad I did, this is awesome

  • @PacoPeekaPoo Go back to their earlier stuff and you'll really be blown away. A lot of DT fans find this bland by those standards.

  • At 7:43 its a blizzard of counterpoint, which by the way was excellently done with my asian friend!!

  • CRAAAAAAAAAAP!!

  • this song makes me want to cut out my heart and present it to the fire in my soul!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Minecraftjunky23

    What? :D

  • 3:17 is a magical riff

  • @234soccerfreak

I'd argue at 2:31 but it's a tremendous f*cking riff. In fact it's top 10 of all riffs. And I said it the first time I heard it to my mates. Been a Purple fan since '70 and I reckon these guys have finally outdone all the bands and come out on top. It's is a magnificent riff... One of the best...

  • orgasm part 0:01 - 10:15!!

  • Mathematical music...No,No :)

  • @thethedeviant Bach. Handel. Mozart. Mathematical music. Brilliant. And fun.

  • @quixotefive It's ok as long as it's not just tehnical and artificial. Respect, but I don't like it.

  • The intro makes my eyes water and my nipples hard. True story.

  • @Riolias409 ಠ_ಠ

  • Another great DT song! My speakers just melted!!!!

  • Personally, I approve.

  • I can hear Symphony X in here! Anyone agree?

  • @EquinoxParadox91 Dream Theater is symphony X's prime influence since they have been doing technical metal a lot longer.

  • Nah, nevermind, this song blows.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Douche bag!

  • @MlKEPORNTOY do you ever get tired of trolling?

  • Chad Kroger's vocals have improved. Daniel Adair's drumming is significantly more technical.

  • 02:31

  • @TheClarenceter: Atleast I backed up my reasons. All you have done was just cover your ears and throw around lame ass insults. Respond when you have something worthwhile to say.

  • Here's what I notice on this song: there is lots of instrumental stuff, but it feels as though it's still a part of the main song instead of being a non-descript section of wanking. That's what the previous albums suffered from; Systematic Chaos occasionally, and BCSL in droves

  • the parts of the chorus are amazing... how shit can do this things ??

  • Comment removed

  • @TheClarenceter: yeah you kinda are. I gave you a reason why commenting is not just criticizm, yet you dismissed it and went on acting like a brat. Plus you haven't even given me a valid reason why I'm wrong. Cut the bullshit!

  • @sonicnator Don't flatter yourself. You didn't contribute shit to anything.

  • @TheClarenceter: keep ignoring my posts bro. It realllly helps. -_-

  • @sonicnator I am not ignoring anything you fucking joke.

  • love the piano intro ;D a real contrast

  • @ theclarenceter Boy you sure sound like on tough dude talking like that. you sound really smart too.

  • in memory of lordkont, amen!!!

  • Comment removed

  • eargasmic

  • Gay. Bland. Boring. Tryhard music.

  • @TheClarenceter: Music doesn't have a sexual preferance. :P

  • @sonicnator I am not talking about the music you imbecile. I am talking about fuckwitted wankers that made it.

And, the music is pretty sad. It is the same sad, disgusting attempt at music like they've always attempted at.

  • @TheClarenceter: Sheesh rage much?

If you hate their material that much, why bother giving them the time of day by viewing their stuff and commenting on it?

I'm fairly new to these guys, but I like what I've heard so far.

  • @sonicnator: Oh and next time, try making your comment clearer. There 0 indication that you were talking about the writers.

  • @sonicnator "If you hate them, LEAAAAVE". This is seriously the most overrated and contradicted reply a fanboy will ever leave against critics and people with an actual taste in music.

COMMENTING is about criticism you moaning little twat!

  • @TheClarenceter: Ohhh someones mad. lol

I only asked why bother giving a shit about them if you hate them so much. I never said you had to leave.

And fanboy? How can I be a fanboy if I'm just getting to know these guys and haven't even heard all of their songs? Fail!!

Actual taste in music? Ok, what do you like then?

Commenting is about expressing your opinion freely. It doesn't always need to be about criticism(especially when the one criticizing is acting like a complete ass!)

  • @sonicnator God, you're fucking daft. If anyone is pissed, it's certainly you. You are a fanboy, a dumb newcomer fanboy.

Holy fucking shit, you Americans are certainly cut off from the world and reality. Commenting is indeed criticism, expressing ones opinions freely is not commenting.

  • @TheClarenceter: cont...

Commenting CAN be criticism, but as a whole it's just stating how feel and what you think about whatever is being shown. Therefore, it's "freely expressing your opinions".

  • @sonicnator: *how you feel

  • @sonicnator Commenting IS criticism you effete arsehole!

  • @TheClarenceter thats a little bit rude

  • @TheClarenceter Your ignorance is astonishing...

  • @fhliestkid88 What the actual fuck? Ignorance?

  • "Living among the gods"- I didn't know Dream Theater have roommates.

  • @SHADOWNETXIII I think that is their roommates speaking.

  • Sorry dude...the last 7 lines are:

    Leading the empire

    Brutal and heartless

    Vanishing further

    Into the darkness

    Lost not forgotten

    King of the deathless soul

  • hey john... go off.

  • to be honest, I enjoy less if it was not Mike Portnoy who played all the songs songs from dream theater ..:( where are you mike...

  • The beginning of the song with the piano is TRULY BEAUTIFUL. Why wouldn't they have it for longer?

  • @BIoodrunk 00:11 Here's a 'replay' button for you. Now let's listen to the piano part over and over again, because it is, as you said, so damn beautiful.

  • The unision run between John and Jordan sounds something like Necrophagist!!...:P and the guitar and keyboard solo is one of the epic's I have ever heard from DT...this is bound to be a classic...!!

  • This epic song is a little bit ruined by the guitar intro that sounded like music for Mario-Bros game. Petrucci no longer needs to show off his guitar skills cause nobody will dispute his superiority.

  • @masluki Sure, the intro is akward. I'm discovering Dream Theater and there are many things very interesting in the song.

  • 7:10 - 8:10: best guitar solo EVER!!!!

  • I heared that Petrucci was fingered a woman for 15 seconds. She no survive

  • The solo in this song is so underrated

  • the lyrics are wrong

  • 2:31 = A7X's Critical Acclaim :D

  • The beginning piece from JR is so amazing I wish they would incorporate this more into their future albums.

  • Porqué DT no toca esta canción en sus conciertos? :(

  • Aí sim é outro universo da música, é praticamente um mundo paralelo

  • thumbs up if u think this song is under a glass moon but parts were added to it.

  • why did they get rid of portnoy i thought this band was like a family its bullshit

  • @321dudeomg Portnoy left the band because they would not go on a 5 year hiatus like he wanted them to, read the story

  • One of Petrucci's best solos ever. He flaunts more sense of melody than most metal soloists nowadays have in their entire discographies.

  • dream theater or circus maximus???

    even unicyclist...

    hahahahahaha

  • This is terrible quality for HD...

  • 04:51 - this part strongly reminds me of their song Don't Look Past Me...

  • awesome song....awesome cd.

  • fuck yes !! Dream Theater is living amongst the gods !

  • I was about to comment an awesome , clever comment... but than i got an arrow to the knee

  • Never thought i would say epic about a DT song. One of the few if not only epic DT song. Amazing...

  • I hope they will play it on the Europen leg of their tour in 2012.

  • @bigbluemonkey290 yeah me too, and the more I listen to it the more I can't stop listening to it! Hahahah, very good album

  • songs without soul,,, so sad ,,, DT is dead now

  • @sebtek1823 The 5 greatest musicians on the planet would disagree with you.

  • @sebtek1823 is dead for many years! I used to be a fan of D.T. till Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, included! After that I started to realise what shit it is!

  • i lov the part at 2:30 its sooo lik we takin over and badass this song is great

  • my new favorite song :-)

  • This song is the reason I have a guitar tuned to D Standard.

  • @URAssassiN1 stupid head

  • Tossed not forgotten

    Rimming against the odds

    Fucked and erected

    Shooting a bunch of wads

    Burning like wildlife

Ride up and down my pole

    Tossed, not forgotten

    Licking a shitless hole

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Excuse me while I attempt to catch my breath after laughing so hard at your username, holy fuck haha

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Haha you again. Of course, we all know that YOU are the real Mike Portnoy (omg xD)

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Or is it Mike Porn-toy? I'm not quite sure what you want to tell us with your shitty name. Maybe you want to get some clicks on your channel cause everyone thinks it's Portnoy when he reads it first. OR you're a deep Portnoy hater (why ever) and you like to talk dogshit about other people. Whatever, it's your choice ;p

Have a nice day with your porn toy man hahaha!

  • @MlKEPORNTOY I like :D

  • Under A Glass Moon 2.0

  • @riddleman65 Okay so I wasn't the only one to notice that too.

  • فشيخه

  • UR welcome

  • hahahhahaa

  • @URAssassiN1 thanks for the upload man!

  • Scientists are saying that there are speeds faster than the speed of light. They have obviously just seen John Petrucci.

  • I couldn't help thinking about Muammar Al-Gadaffi, when I first heard this song in september!!

  • yea

  • Under a Glass Moon V2.00 :)

  • @smorly right !!!!! i said this same to other people and they can see the similarity to UAGM !!!!! just to name a few elements: guitar intro, drums and bass same patterns in intro, the first and second verse.....the chorus !!! even the drums using the ride ! the bridge before the guitar solo all playing the same figure and keyboard other figure.....the guitar solo (even the same crazy noises )...etc etc !!!!

  • When I first heard this song I was on the road back home with my family and I remember saying as I listened to the opening riffs "hellyeah, this is Dream Theater, classic...classic. *****

  • great song

  • Great song, it just irritates me that the intromelody is so much alike one of the best melodies from star wars...

  • Bridges in the sky

  • i think this song has a same concept with Under a glass moon.

From beginning to the end of the song . it's look so similar. The Solo's time, the pattern of intro and outro It's an evolution from Under a glass moon i think. :D

  • This album is EPIC!!

    Best solo ever 7:10 - 8:08

  • Great epic song ... Lost not forgotten!

  • 11 people....(insert painful, deathly insult here)

  • GENIOUS...no more words!!!

  • Comment removed

  • The drums are RIDICULOUS. Mangini is from another planet or something. Same goes for the rest of the band. Bought the cd the day after it came out. I'm still scratching my head on how they do the stuff they do.

  • imagine hearing this song while on final boss Ragnaros!! =p

    Stressed nervous and furious!

  • beautiful song..i think that this track is one of the most beautiful from the last album..but i prefere outcry ... ps. mike portnoy i miss youuuu =(

  • la mejor banda del mundo!

  • this song is awsome .. this album is just GREAT... thanks petrucci.. thanks dream theater =)

  • I think I fell in love ._. this is a piece of art. I <3 DT

  • dat solo

  • 1:52-2:32 CERN's new hadron collider experiment

  • @greatdilemmagd just listen Ron Jarzombek and you will hear where comes from that part :)

  • Gah I keep hearing the Riff from In The Name Of God coming in after 2:27. That would be such an epic combination :P

  • Awesome album.

  • 01:59 Super Mario, level 8-4

  • Amazing song.

  • Under a glass moon in 2011 version.

  • Sounds a lot like Under a Glass Moon.

  • Yeah, I got to go pick up this album tomorrow. I can't believe I don't have it yet! This is a great song :)

  • that intro is purely beethoven haha

  • I love the intro...

  • this is a great son guyz love it

  • @URAssassiN1 asshole....

  • It is amazing how after the mind-fucking session beginning at 1:58, DT can calmly play a straightforward rock background beginning at 2:31. That simple background lets LaBrie and the awesome lyrics shine.

  • Myung so Awesome :D

  • another name is ''Over a Glass Moon"

  • Greatest Moment: 8:22

  • One of my favourite of this album.

  • Jason Richardson destroys this

  • i'm listening whole morning songs from DT, unfortunately... like every singer, each group has couple of songs that are breathtaking, more I search, less I want it... they have been lost and everything new is without soul and heart...

  • @ddanjko "soul and heart..." are very subjective terms. Having said that, it sucks to be you.

  • @kylethetoybox

    oh oh oh, čekaj malo

....the impression of song has nothing to do with me... some their's staff are amazing... By my humble opinion, its not important to compose as more songs as possible,...one or two albums, but better albums, then 8-10 just to keep the numbers.. I don't see a reason that you are insulted by my opinion... loving DT doesn't mean that you will be impressed with all songs....I am not ... I thought that I would be ? !! neee :) it sucks to be you actually :P

  • @ddanjko They don't just try to compose as many songs as possible. In MY humble opinion, every song on this album is a complete masterpiece in its own right. Heart and soul are very subjective terms. You don't connect with this song, but that's just you, and you can't possibly speak for everybody. Personally, whenever I listen to this entire album, I hear the extreme passion they have for what they do, and their drive to keep getting better as a cohesive group of musicians.

  • @kylethetoybox

hej, i am not speaking for everybody, i speak for myself ... i am glad if you feel that way, but I just wrote my opinion / disappointed / wishes please , stop now.tnx

  • 1:59, hope you don't like your face, because it's going to melt.

  • quiz!!!

according to Dream Theater who is known across the desert?

    a) the persians

    b) Mike the camel

  • 7:50 does that piano remind you of Bad Salad's 'Nemesis' near the end?

  • No one seems to realize that Mike Mangini had nothing to do with the writing of the album.

  • @fingerboy18 from what do you make that up?

The wiki article says this pretty clearly, so.

  • @Sercan1995 John Petrucci said in an interview that the drums were written by him before Mangini arrived to record.

  • @fingerboy18 Yeah, that's what I said. The wikipedia article said they programmed the drums without him.

So where do you make up that nobody seems to notice this? and why would they care?

  • @Sercan1995 Some people are saying "MP wrote better drum parts" and "Mangini's so much better at writing".

  • @fingerboy18 ahh. you gotta admit, it doesn't happen very often that the guitarist writes the drums x3

so it doesn't surprise me that they don't know.

  • @Sercan1995 Haha, agreed! I can't wait til Mangini writes, but John did a great job. I'm sure he did put his own flavor on the parts though ;)

  • Since when was 360p HD? Buy the disk; it'll make it sound like you lifted a blanket off of your speakers.

  • 3:20 Very Constant Motion

  • Under Glass Moon (2011)

  • the only song from this album that hasnt been played live yet.

  • @wiltzer1 this is the life?

  • @Mechanix1911 you got me man ;)

  • "Men have come to fear me

    Many bow and cry

    Known across the desert

I am the one who will not die"

    Totally Kratos :)

  • hq is better than hd in music, i think, eheh

  • This sounds just like their last several albums. Forgettable and repetitive verse/chorus combination, interspersed with flashy prog instrument masturbation to fill out the rest of the track.

There's no reason behind these songs, anymore. DT just pumps it out en masse, knowing their Guitar Hero audience will buy it, no matter what. Even modern day DT is better than the garbage their fans listen to, so it will sell regardless.

  • @Brewzkier I'm sorry you feel that way. I personally think it's the best album since Train of Thought. And I hate to break it to you, but even early DT had long extended instrumental/solo sections. Furthermore, this sounds more like classic DT than anything they've released in the last 10 years...

Having said that, I read your comment and I think t
