i have a question for anyone that knows, they sell the 007p forge dv on ebay and then they have the 007 dv that have no brand name much cheaper are they bad does anyone know i bout a b5 audi and what a little louder whoosh
If you have a 1.8t... or a 2.0t, you're better off leaving a diverter valve on it, blow off valve makes it sound more like a tuner, but it won't recycle any of the excess boost, instead it will just blow it out...
In short, if anything, it will do more bad then good.
I have a 2006 Audi TT 1.8 225 with the Forge 007 DV and a short ram intake. The DV is as loud as a jap car with a BOV.. For you guys who want noise there is no need for the splitter valve..this DV with green spring holds the boost great and your car will perform as it should
What model is the AEM short ram? Do you have a link where I could get it? I have the splitter and a K&N but I hate the K&N. Thought I would give this a chance.
I have the splitter in mine and I advise you to try it in the full recirculation mode, it seemed to me at least that I got a lot of power back from that. Try it and let me know if you feel the same
I used to have similar set up, K&N filter but Forge splitter. I switched K&N back to stock because stock filter gives better acceleration with my setup.
And even though I have a splitter, I have the hole closed so it doesn't make any sound. I noticed better performance this way as well. End result is not much sound making car, but it surely is faster now.
Yeah do you have an aftermarket intake? Also, I noticed the A4's with this same setup doesn't sound quite the same either. I don't know why, but the 1.8t in the TT's and GTI's are a little different. I think the 1.8t's in the TT's and GTI's have more PSI. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong?
@krnz3 no ur right and its because of the turbo's that come for them along with different ecu mapping Audi made it that way so their a bit more aggressive to give buyers a reason to buy them, but from my experience their harder to worker on compared to the longitudinal mounted a4 engine so i prefer a4's and passats with the 1.8
Hey Bro I Have a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T and a 2001 Audi S4 2.7 bi-turbo i want that same DV u have for both of my rides if i wanted to install them would they fit??? thanx bro...!!!
@djsonicc I heard that for the Forge 007P DV a green spring is better for chipped motors, ive got a 2004 1.8T thats pushin 233bhp now and was reccomended by the lads on the forum to go with green cos it holds boost better, might be worth lookin into, ive just ordered the same valve and am getting the green spring fitted.
And what do you drive? Probably some peice of shit riced out VR6 with a stupid fast and the furious ebay body kit and altezza tails that give you like 50 hp right? Damn, im sure fucking jealous of your car man... STFU kthnx
haha lmfao they speak this weird ass shit cuz we cant understand it hahah my s4 with straight ko4's 21 psi would roast their vr6 with a 500 dollor bod kit haha
Yes, it's green. Why don't you try switching to yellow to see if you can feel/hear the difference in performance? I was told that the yellow spring will give off a (slightly) different note.
god i miss that sound... i had the anodized red one on my saab... im trying my toyota for another saab so i can get that sound back... i miss it that bad
This is why XtremeJoe said his DV sounds different. If he's running the stock airbox he won't get the same sound. The cold air intake really make a diiference in the sound. There are a ton of off brand DVs but I am not sure if they will perform.
I spoke to a guy who purchased one and he said that he did not notice a difference with the new DV. Others have said the same even after installing the Forge DVs.
Your DV will sound completely different if you are running the stock airbox. The stock airbox is big, bulky and heavy. It is made for a quiet ride not performance. I noticed a huge difference in sound and performance after I replaced it with the cold air intake system.
The sound you're hearing above is more and less the results of the after market air intake system coupled with the DV.
sounds incredibly sexy! recirculating?? is there a way to adjust the forge to blow off a greater %? ive heard you can adjust the ratios, sorry if this sounds dumb ive always been around N/A cars :(
Regardless, the SplitR valve doesn't allow you to adjust the sound, or amount of air blowing out. It allows you to adjust the DV's tension, depending on how much boost you're running.
I have a 2000 Audi TT Quattro 180T with some slight mods under the hood (Neuspeed air flow intake system and ECS Ultimate timing belt kit with the light weight pulleys). I am contemplating the Forge DV as a replacement for my stock DV.
Did you notice a difference after installing the Forge DV? What color spring did you opt for (Red, Blue, Yellow and Green....Red is the stiffest and green least stiff?

any 1.8t owner should get a forge dv, helps so much with the lag.

Is this a open diverter valve? cuz i just installed a closed loop Forge 007 DV and it sounds nothing like this. I have a 2004 Jetta 1.8T

yes, except for s4 you'll need 2 of them. if you're chipped you need yellow spring, or if you're factory go with a blue spring.

whats the diffrence between a diverter valve and a blow off valve someone please respond thank you
454sskilla 2 years ago
Blow - Off Valve = blows air out to atmosphere
diverter valve = recirculates the air.
google is your friend.
krnz3 2 years ago 5
there are BOV's that recirculate air (i.e. greddy type-s)
djsonicc 2 years ago
is there a big difference in sound between stock and the forge dv without the short ram?
asswhipe231 2 years ago
you can't hear it very well w/o the intake... It still sounds pretty much stock if you just have the Forge DV + stock airbox.
krnz3 2 years ago
would a K&N help with the sound?
a K&N cold intake is the only one currently in my price range haha.

how much did it cost for it to be installed

Takes like 10 minutes to install by yourself.

which color spring did u put in ur DV?
falconcrest32 3 years ago
I believe I had the green one in it. It was the spring recomended for stock PSI, and these stock turbo's run 11psi.

xxlap1xx 3 years ago
wont hear it, i rocked the forge 007, before i got an intake, you cant hear it that well... intake is deff recommended
krnz3 3 years ago
this the same as the splitter valve?
G19RPS 3 years ago
No, this is just a Diverter Valve. I would recommend 100% recurc on these motors.
krnz3 3 years ago
ahh i see! i got the splitter in my car with a CAI and it sounds very similar to this. you can check the vids on my page if you want.

What color spring are you using on your DV??? I'm using a green one on a virtually stock Saab 9-5 LPT, but am considering a yellow one.
kiminiaitakute 4 years ago
im using the stock one that it came with. So i think its green?
krnz3 4 years ago
Yes, it's green. Why don't you try switching to yellow to see if you can feel/hear the difference in performance? I was told that the yellow spring will give off a (slightly) different note.

I don't think you can adjust the amount of air blowing out. But the diverter valve comes with springs depending on how much psi you're running.
krnz3 4 years ago
you are talking about a forge splitR valve, the one that is part recirc and part atmos. this 007p is different.
dailey87 4 years ago
Regardless, the SplitR valve doesn't allow you to adjust the sound, or amount of air blowing out. It allows you to adjust the DV's tension, depending on how much boost you're running.
