Whats making these cars so fast (nitros) combined with super low gears? Are they hitting the button right off the line?

Why such long burn outs for footbrake cars? Do they like it when the front end comes off the ground (or) is that something they can't help due to the low gears being run, with the nitros combined? What kinds of times are they running, either in the eight or quarter? Good action, but wrecklace it seems a bit to me, especially if they are there to win races.. Good Video, B )

There are nitrous, turbo and blower cars in the field....

They run mid sevens to high sixes in the 1/4. Mid fours to low fives in the 1/8.

They burnout with line locks.

1/8th cars need the gearing to get maximum engine rpm by the 1/8th mile.

They are trying to tune the suspension to keep the front down. But when it goes up they enjoy themselves anyway despite a possibly aborted run......

It might be "reckless" as you put it but it's also addictive!!

@1995camry1 Cars like these run 7's and low 6's, some of which are street-legal, not sure about the cars in this video but there are street-legal muscle cars in the 6's in the 1/4 mile.

Oh man, I could watch this over and over again at 1:43 "woah heads up!" I bet that guy ####himself as he rose up off the ground LOL. I also liked the part where the mustang caught fire before he even left the line that was pretty funny too. Note to self, dont stand near the engine of a blown car.
