  • Marketplace is one of the best informative programs on TV and Wendy Mesley is the best!!!

  • Everything they claim is true to some extent. It's up to consumers to listen more carefully to the ads they see.

  • Fuck that Wendy is hot

  • scary

  • Investigate the effects of sodium fluoride in drinking water. Start with the 90% of EPA's toxicologist who are against water fluoridation, and also check the National Academy of Science final fluoridation report 'fluoride in drinking water'

  • @drosmo420 Fluoride is a byproduct of making fertlizers ....I bet you wont be pouring a tall glass of fertlizer to drink why in the hell are are drinking this.. Better yet why are we letting the dental people give our kids fluoride treatmeant for there teeth...FACE PAULM

  • best to wash ur hands and minimally use alternatves, teatree, lavender (rarely use bleach), theres a ton of toxins in all sorts of cleaners and personal care products, hormones, toxins etc, best to research or stick to natural (beware of greenwashed or "safe" cleaners some hide toxins too) cleaners

  • @markjv

virtually EVERYTHING to come into contact with is in some way toxic ie: fruit, vegetables, cooked meat, plastic. Most all plants produce toxins as a molecular defense. Luckily your liver can deal with even some of the worst toxins you subject yourself to.

By the way, as a general rule you should never put essential oils directly on your skin because the most common extraction process leaves ACTUAL dangerous compounds in the oil, which are readily absorbed by the skin.

  • we have to make a point to reduce expose and speak out when there are hidden dangers

veggy toxins are very different than manmade, that is the same argument that has been said to NOT tell ppl to eat organics. Pesticides shouldn;t be there and we shouldn't be forced to eat things that harm our health (unless we plan to ex: smoking

I didnt say to put full strenth on anything. ppl can read the bottle. the teatree that was food grade says a few drops in a load of laundry.

  • I had a friend who CONSTANTLY cleaned her home and more than once daily windexed the storm door's glass because "junior" always put fingerprints on it. She complained that she almost went through a roll of paper towels EACH DAY. Then, she was amazed (???) that "junior" came down with ASMA. Go Figure! If people are stupid enough to fall prey to these FEAR TACTICS (which DOES sell more than sex these days) then perhaps mankind COULD do with a thinning out of morons.

  • can we sue them?

  • I don't understand...No where in the advertisement does Lysol make a reference to the Canadian Paediatric society...so why are they making such a big fuss about it? The statement in the commercial is quite true, it is the "number one brand used by Canadian pediatricians at home"--based on their market survey.

  • LIES as always, my mother-inlaw told me right on a long time ago... white vinegar does a better job...

  • Speaking from a microbiology perspective:

    Lysol can shove it.

  • who cares?we all need to clean with these kinda stuff and obviously none of them are endorsed by anything so stop nagging and getting shocked for no reason.you could always use your lemon juice to clean everything if you wanna be 100 sure!losers

  • Well technically it is true.

I could say 100% of people surveyed chose Lysol. I don't have to say that there were only 10 people surveyed an all of them were employees of Lysol. Haha.

I think that that claim isn't a lie, but it is deceiving, and a bit shifty.

  • Isn't there a standard of "truth in advertising" that has to be met? This is a totally misleading claim by Lysol. I have Lysol products that I use on occasion and I like them, but I'm very disappointed in the company for doing this.

  • P.S. Hooray for Wendy!

  • ...why would you really even NEED a disinfect in your home?

do our homes need bio-hazardous waste disposals too?

  • well a disinfectant YES lysol, some ro at all??, rather use nature clean products, they state no carcinogines or suspected ones in all their cleaners and soaps, i did away w the "air fresheners too , those are loaded w toxins, but then again cans and personal care items are also an issue, bpa etc hidden in more than the baby bottle

  • @markjv

cleaning products available for household use have very minimal toxicity to begin with. As long as you don't drink them or try to huff them, they are completely harmless.

I spend most of my time in a lab where we constantly use disinfectants. firstly lysol ISNT actually a disinfectant, and secondly, the average home has the same microbial life you would find outside (or anywhere for that matter), why WOULD you need to disinfect it?

  • BTW i many yrs ago had all the lysol MSDS sheets sent so i know what is in them. disinfecting is important for raw meat and washrms, i rarely disinfect much else. most fo the disinfecting is washing my hands often, ps i am certifed in safe food handling. I dont trust by u saying u sue them all the time so they are safe,LOL

  • Spraying a teddy bear with some weirdo disinfectant? Not good!

  • nobody goes to jail no significant fines means it keeps happening..the real problem is not enough wendy mesleys and a lethargic apathetic population

  • Lysol is a good disinfectant .. and good ant killer, but the vapor alone is harmful to humans. Corruption is rampant, lysol, step aside.

  • lysol should be sued for sure/

  • @matsutakneatche Expecially to let other companies know if they try stuff like this there going to be held accountable.
