Same here! But I´ve managed to watch Abida Parveen sahiba so please, my advice to you is: if you like this, make sure you catch Abida jee next time. And get first or second front line seat. You´ll get blown away!

I sat almost by the front and her voice and Sufi style is so powerful that I could feel the strange vibrations against my chest and throat. It´s hard to explain but these Sufi style singers sing with their eyes closed and the listeners are just taken somewhere else.

I'm always fascinated when I listen to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Such a great musician with an incredible voice and yet a humble person. I don't think that we shall see very soon such a great musician like Nusrat. May his soul rest in peace!

We need to have a balanced approach when analyzing someone. We in India and Pakistan either put some one on a pedestal or simply hate them. Here are my few cents:

NFAK was a great singer, but did he have a beautiful voice or as someone has commented " that he had the voice of a God" = NO. However he had this pain in his voice that made sad songs even deeper meanings. Maybe he was tormented all his life from within. So it was basically his compositions and selection of poetry that made him......
