Yuck! The plot! I love this show, but I went for a while without watching it, and when I came back, Mel had a 5 year old son, and Ned was six feet tall and 17 years old. Wow, how times flies. :):) I think the writers and the producers were getting a little desperate, by having Jim die and then go into Sam's body, (I keep getting mixed up on that).. The writers and producers must have been high on meth during these episodes. :}:}

I Just saw this... tonight.. and I was ganna change the channel because it was almost over. then I saw when they were in the hospital and i saw Jim, and i thought he woke up till i saw he was wearing a blue shirt instead of the hospital one im like >_>? . Then the camra angle changed and i saw him standing and another one of him in the Hospital bed im like :OOOOOO. then in my mind im all : NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Omg I absolutly love Jim-bo and I was like about to ball my eyes out when he died and I did see the signs, I was devistated when he died I literally screamed "No Jim-bo not you" and then thank god for the happiness at his funeral I was cracking up and I love that song it was so uplifting. Also I did not see it coming when he went into Sams body and came back to life I was like "Not uh" but I don't care what everyone calls him now that he's Sam..he was my Jim-bo and will always be my Jim-bo!! =D

He doesn't die, he goes into the body of Sam and he forgets who he is, but when Melinda's life is at stake, Eli goes to help her only to tell Jim/Sam that he isnt good with water so Jim/Sam takes over and during that time he almosts drowns and Jims soul takes over and becomes Jim fully.

@Rakki101 Yes, But Jim Doesn't Take over completely, He Starts to Remember some stuff But then Melinda Tells Jim to go into the light and after 2 episodes he does. But Then it's just sam, and Melinda gets mad at him for not remembering anything about her life,she tells him to leave, and he finally leaves.

Jim does FULLY remember who he is, and he doesn't have a clue who Sam is.

He ask's melinda why she is calling him Sam, Which means hes Jim again, and they get remarried and in season 5 JIM and Melinda have a son, aiden.

Their love story is great! I cried so much when he died it was so emotional, I mean he didn't want her to see him dieing so he appears to her and tells her to remember him that way. I just think they are perfect for each other because he supports her in everything, and they understand each other very well.

I'm excited to see him back!

@BatiiGiirl Jim dies, and then he is a ghost. In a later episode there is an accident where a man called "Sam Lucas" dies and his soul is going straight into the light. Jim's ghost and Melinda are there when it happens, and Jim is risking everything just to be with Melinda when he is jumping into Sam's body who starts to live again, but with Jim's soul and Sam's body. When he is in Sam's body, he is losing he's memory...

@BatiiGiirl When he's lying at the hospital after the accident Melinda is there ever though he doesn't remember her. In a later episode, Sam's parents wants Sam to come with them home so he maybe remember something, but he stays and lives in Melinda's garage. Then there are like a few episodes more.. In episode 18 season 4 "Leap of faith" Melinda gets stuck underground and the water is rising. Eli is going to jump down to the water when he tells Sam that he can't swim.

@BatiiGiirl Sam took a chance and jumps down to the water and swims to the other room trying to find Melinda. While under water he gets flashbacks of his life as Jim, and when he got shot. When he almost reach Melinda he drops the light and float up to the surface. Melinda drags him up and then he remembers eveything . NOW THAT'S THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SCENE EVER IN GHOST WHISPERER I THINK (LLLL)

i think that it was a possible route for them but they didnt know which season to put it in if you watch horror movies u will notice tht b4 they know they are in a bad situation they always have things tht r said b4 like "i wish u were dead" "im going to kill you[in a joke way obviously] lol which ends up wiv tht person dies or the person who said it dies lol i think the GWwriters didnt want to kill him off too early incase the fans stopped watchin..etc

to melinda he looks like jim but to every1 else he looks like sam...and when he (jim/sam) looks in a mirror...or anything reflective. at first he cant and melinda tries soo hard to make him remember. finally in, im pretty much positive, a leap of faith he finally remembers...im not going 2 tell u wat happens in case u havent seen it. haha i dont wana ruin it 4 u but if u search the scene on utube its there.

I really don't think the Mors Dilecti was a sign towards Jim's death - it was written from the inside of him, giving me the idea that it was going to be a death of one of his loved ones. Which, it was, because Melinda briefly died at the end of that season.

I think the idea of Jim dying only came up recently with the writers. Rumor has it, that David Conrad was thinking of going back to doing stage shows, and asked if there was any way for him to get more screen time.
