To me this is an entertaining, well-mentioned movie that falls just short of a masterpiece. I don't agree with some of the comments here criticizing it as right-wing, since screenwriter Stephen Gaghan is a well-known Hollywood liberal (and I think director William Friedkin is, too).
My own problem is that the film raises difficult questions of morality and then fails to engage them them. Still, it's definitely worth seeing, and Jackson and Jones were superb in it.
In today's world where t.v. and social medias dominate every aspect of life, people expect wars to be waged "nicely". It's not enough that American soldiers have to die, people want them to act "properly" while the other side has no f#cking rules. It's like trying to win a card game cleanly against someone who cheats.
