  • We played this song at my brother's funeral. He was only 34 when he left us. He wasn't a spiritual person, but I think this song touched him. This song has so much significance and is truly timeless.

  • Never has this song been more true or needed than today...

  • Thank you for such wonderful Music (PEACE) Is what we need Just hope someone Is listening..................

  • when there be a harvest to the world!

  • Nation after Nation Turning Into Beasts..Peace to All

  • Always makes me cry

  • THIS IS A GREAT SONG,HAS A POSITIVE MESSAGE!

  • Much of the Isleys' music were anthems. Their vision changed drastically from the 60's into the 70's. They grew with the times while maintaining the entertainment factor. The main theme of the 70's was to get a message out to the people. From Earth, Wind and Fire, to Stevie Wonder to the O'Jays to the Chi-Lites and even Jazz musicians the message was clear: Make the world a better place to live in.

  • This was my conscious anthem at 13...I love this song still today, never gets old. at 3:01 TURN IT UP!! now Clap! Clap! Clap! double Clap!

  • @mssquirrely I love this song too!!!

  • This song is well said ! Beautiful !

  • I want another chance to remake this?

  • My pops grew up listening to beebop, he couldn't stand my generations music. Now i CANT STAND MY SONS MUSIC!!! I just don't understand?

  • The harvest will come in God's new system! Great comments! Nice to find that we have thinking people who have connected the dots.. Thanks again and peace brother..

  • I remember having more TOYS than resposibilities....hoping the World would change by the time I was an Adult.....

  • @csumjr --well it did change--are you happy now?

  • @iamthequeenbee100 are you kidding? I have a great job, and my own house...yes, it did. But my hope is, the World itself puts aside all petty differences, and lives as one..

  • @csumjr --not going to happen: "dressing up for battle" "for there shall be wars and rumors of war", "gather every man, gather every woman.."for the men and women shall be gathered to gather and shall flee--better for a child to not be born in those times than to endure what is to come..." 'a nation planted so concerned with gain as the seasons come and go " for she was drunk on the harvest o f her wars..."Harvest--"reckoning--taken another way, -- almost prescient as well as scary .

  • @iamthequeenbee100 and we who hear, understand, and believe....why worry?

  • @csumjr --no worries here, just information--not all people hear (or can hear) understand (or can "see") and belief is not the issue--we all have "jobs" mine is to witness and to spread the word--so that all who have understanding or are seeking can connect the dots.

  • @iamthequeenbee100 didn't change for the better, and as far as happiness, I'm still optomistic

  • @csumjr --no--it has not changed for the better and it is going to get worse--Jesus says he is the reaper and shall come in with a scythe and reap the harvest--this is not the peace harvest but a final reckoning--in fact he goes on to say "let the tare (chaff) and wheat grow together for when I come, I shall separate them" that is a threat and a promise. Armageddon is coming--because the pale horse of the apocalypse has been released as has the horse of war--and both now ride among us.

  • @tulllguy ...yes

  • I think one person clicked dislike by mistake. They shouldn't put those buttons so close together. Anyway this song is amazing, and it's sad that the world isn't how it should be.

  • When will there be a harvest??? I pray soon. This soon is just as uplifting and hopeful today as it was when I first heard it back in the 70's.

  • Wow, such a spiritual song infused with so much soul.! Need to hear this one more often on the radio. What better way to inspire the masses and promote more much needed peace in our violent society and war polluted planet.

  • I am 66, occasionally my daughter and I have an evening on YouTube with a couple of beers and this song always turns up. Soo smooth

  • @1horsman

I am 12, I have been bought up in this sot of enviroment and music. Obviously I still love modern music, but this song is my favourite.

  • @1horsman - you got that right Now this was back in the day, and we went out to party , and jamming to the isleys,

  • @1horsman - you got that right Now this was back in the day, and we went out to party , and jamming to the Isley Brothers, the 70's they was really jamming, hot pants, Nehru collar shirts,

  • @1horsman im 47, this is just a little before my time i was in 6th grade but always loved good music,,,nothin like the oldies

  • I agree that music isn't like this anymore. But am glad that things are always changing. Our parents, grandparents and those before us thought that their era was best too, but it's like walking on sand. Every time that you take a step the bottom moves and you have to keep moving to get through.

Good thing is that we have Youtube to share this and all types of music. It's all good, just in different ways..there is room for everyone.

    Peace out

  • MAGICAL, MAGNIFICENT MUSIC for the AGES! The Isleys are to be WORSHIPPED! Truly classic, in the best sense of soul/pop/rock, absolutely. What I WILL ALWAYS LOVE about them & their music is it's truly BEAUTIFUL orchestrations, melodies & vocals.....it's like they were the New York Philharmonic of the Soul & Rythym genre of their day. NEVER, EVER EVER get tired of 'em.....and they literally BEAT THE SHIT outta' 99% of the "Bands" (and I use that term as loosely as possible) of today!

  • @BigHrdB My gratitude for this song (and the Isley's in general) is immense!

  • This was music!

  • I remember this jam. Just graduated from high school when this album was released.

  • Love it. I have the 45. Thanks for sharing.

  • THIS IS WHEN MUSIC WAS GOOD

  • GIVE THANKS FOR OUR CHILDREN!!!

  • Good Times

  • Man I was 6 at my family reunion in the Dan Ryan woods in chicago and the played this.

  • @phatblackcow -Hey 70's baby

  • high school days... yessss

  • The AWESOME Isley Brothers have managed to stay in the top musical mix for decades with words of love. I especially like these words. "Dress me up for battle when all I want is peace. Those who pay the price, come home with the least." In light of the world's history of wars, I wonder if there will ever be peace.

  • @5622003285 Have you checked out the other versions of this song? The style council, Vanessa Williams and Ronnie Laws all did this song.

  • @ekocentric i love vanessa williams one!

  • @5622003285 THE BEST I B SONG "EVER".

    UK/USABOY.

  • @5622003285 No my brother, there will be no peace until Jesus returns. War is in the heart of man, as you indicated from our history. But thank God, he can make a new heart within us. John 3:3,16. Blessings.
