  • This classic in Brasil, she knows how to fire up hearts.

  • how high can we fly listening to this BOY from Ipanema @ RIO who loves Diana Krall

  • Very Beautiful! Perfect.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • Vielen Dank !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fucking moving

  • This is not a "clap along" song

  • @drums4694 right... especially if the clapping is on 1 + 3 instead of 2 + 4...... xD hate it when people do that...

  • Diana and my face brilliant connection..........

  • Diana and brazilian audience = perfect combination. Very Nice.

  • Fantastic ...Version classic...

  • I love her look (and the look of her fellow musicians) when the crowd responds so beautifully. A true connection of appreciation on both parts, the performer and the audience. Well done Diana!

  • いい曲ですね。アップロードありがとうございます。

  • Again it just doesn't get any better than this, Diana Krall had her audience in her hands, how could she go wrong singing Brazils most popular song, in front of a Brazilian Audience, the atmosphere was electric, you could feel it, and see it, even her musicians faces appeared to be thrilled with the audience participation. Diana you look great, you play jazz piano brilliantly, your youthful looks and sexy voice, an all round entertainer.....

  • DanUCB, I do not understand how this kind of attitude is not the case, I'm probably whiter than you, I'm descended from French, I live in Brazil, a beautiful country, I would like to come here to see how one of the seven wonders of the world. If this is racist needs to improve the lessons of geography, Rio de Janeiro is Brazil's place with more blacks, who condemn racist and condemn all the French, it is usually someone from small penis, or you need some complex less for someone to be higher.

  • Magic...

  • Versione fantastica, magica....

  • Lindo demais .... na voz de DIANA KRALL...

  • When you are in Ipanema, summer season, walking aroung...Dude, it feels exactly like this song...Rio is an unique city...Everyone is beautiful, welcome...I love living here!

  • @profittlich shut the fuck up and enjoy the music right

  • @profittlich If we are monkeys for clapping, you aberrant is an asshole for not respecting a cultural way of telling the artist we are enoyng the show...It is a cultural thing, but people like you havent learn to respect the differences yet...

And you think you can say something about decency? LMFAO

  • @DanUCB youre worthless animals half man half monkey. and don't say it's a cultural thing it just proves that your people are so primitive and stupid. monkeys would also clap along. stupid animals look at south america piece of shit. you people are not human, it's like civilization just ignored you hahaha go fuck more donkeys niggers

  • @profittlich Well, if you are an example of human being from what you call civilization, Lord, please let me live my whole life until my dying day enjoying every corner of this piece of shit I live in! But you are right, I must confess that it might look kinda weird for foreigners clapping along, but it is not offensive here, that's the point, in most of the music styles here in Brazil you have interaction. I just dont get why you feel better than us, cause you are not, just different. =)

  • great, like a samba ...... crowd controll is briliant here

    aaaaawow

  • beautiful cooperation with the audience. music cross every border

  • Actually you can clap on bossa nova, THEY JUST DID! Are you all deaf? ;)

  • She's in her own class. That's it.

  • <3<3 <3 thank you

  • I have a beauitiful man, but the only man that comes first is GOD!

  • I´m so proud to be brazilian ! Yes, we sing all day and we clap good music just because we are happy ! :) ! Thank you Diana Krall !

  • @dani29sp - By the way, do you use Cocaine in Brazil since you are so very happy? Perhaps it is marijuana that you used? Please kindly say something. Thank you.

  • @Search4diabetescure ... Well what can I tell you....honesty nothing

  • Spent a week in Salvador where my wife lived as a teen. The city throbbed with polyrthymic percussion. We saw a street concert by Olodum, we watched young men dance the capoeria. Even at a restaurant, a waiter was carrying an empty milk carton back to the kitchen, tapping out a nice beat on it as he walked. No people know musical timing as well as Brazilians -- No One. They can clap to the music anytime they want. Because they CAN.

  • This is a precious gem. Saver for sure! A cultural, symbiotic, downright modern day relic.

  • I LOVE BRAZIL!!!

  • Why are they clapping on the upbeat?

  • love this song.............

  • Una de las versiones más hermosas que he escuchado.

  • Comment removed

  • Having the audience sing was a gimmick. While it sounded nice, its easier than having to learn the Portuguese herself.

  • absolutely gorgeous!

  • Beautiful, Awesome, I love how with music you cant created, peace an love.

  • The audience is AWESOME! And I love her, :)

  • This is a great version of a classic song.... I love the audience participation and to see it bring a smile to her face shows the connection.

  • If music be the food of love, play on ... Shakespeare

  • i like this one my favorite version

  • Such a beautiful Tenor-Alto voice for a lady like her.

  • It a cool

  • Awesome audience!

  • stupid add before this song O_O

  • Tudo maravilhoso, mas as palminhas...

  • Guys, why are u arguing? Don´t u realize that Diana Krall ASK people to participate? Don´t u think that she perfectly knows that Brazilian people would really do, singing and clapping? She knows how Brazilian audience behaves; she comes here a lot of times. And I think that she found the result pretty good. Me too!

  • Si me concentro viendola, parese que me la esta cantando a mi

  • interessantissima e bellissima, brava, mi piaci, complimenti per tutto

  • The audience did a very good job I love it.. great job..

  • dinosaur milk.... ftw!

  • The voice and the text, not that good. Clapping was ok, and I love brazilian people and their spontaneity. As a musician, I'd always love an involved and naturally behaving audience

  • @silbaar * text = lyrics. Sorry, I traslated it badly !

  • oh my god, this is the best harmony ever, and I've read so many stupid sour comments below, you guys shamed the girl from ipanema. I feel sorry for you people.

  • Jeff Hamilton and his Rhythm friends equal amazing, Diana Krall's voice not so good...

  • BEATIFULL MAKES ME UUUUUUUUUGH! ... LOVE IT!

  • 1:36 - bass player fail.

  • yeaah it's cool!!!

  • best version ever!!!...

  • Geoff Hamilton, the coolest of the collest drummers, make sure you watch him.

  • You can't clap on bossa nova? You need to get that fixed...

  • kollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

  • we are BRAZILIANS, we clap whenever we want, this is the way we are.. fuck that shit!

  • @BRitaBRazil sorry, I have to agree on Tava's comment, you not only don't clap along w/ Bosa Nova, you definitetly don't clap along w/ Diana......................but the crowd singing along in Portuguese is too hot

  • I don´t clap for anyone, but as been a Brazilian I can tell you that clapping here doesn´t mean the same for foreign people....that´s why it´s OK. you have to live here to understand it. And we sing the entire day anywhere, or with any singer.. nobody wants to sound or lok good. It´s natural.. it´s culture baby. Right or wrong, it´s culture.

  • @BRitaBRazil lol@ it's culture baby, btw my best on-line friend lives in Sao Paulo, she agree's w/you

  • Brazilian are crazy.. boring for me...

  • @BRitaBRazil naw, crazy is fun

  • now we restart all the way around.. ahhahahah nuts...

  • @BRitaBRazil a "do-over"?

  • ahaha it could be.... Brazilians clap whenever they want and bla bla bla hahahah!

  • @BRitaBRazil First of all, you should learn to write in English properly. Also, this is the lamest argument I've ever read "clapping means something different in Brazil"? Get a grip! What does it mean exactly? And stop trying to sell this image that Brazilians are shinny happy people who sing all day long. This is prejudiced, cliche and old.

  • you should write Portuguese properly.. and yes, we wash clothes , clean the house, sweep the floor singing.. sorry.. We don´t need to be happy to sing.

  • Comment removed

  • @montiani1 No one here needs "to write in English properly"... We are Brazilians and here we speak Portuguese! If you don´t like the way we write your horroble language then you should learn how to speak Portuguese properly!

  • @BRitaBRazil I agree!! I´m from Argentina, and we share this brotherhood/sisterhood with Brasil: we share the same feeling about music and concerts. You go to a concert to enjoy yourself, to sing along, to express with your body the music. That´s why latin audience is so apreciated between musicians all over the world. So people don´t be so close-minded l and enjoy the music!

  • HAHAH maybe we latin, can´t stop moving with good songs... that´s the point.

  • @BRitaBRazil what?

  • very well indeed, kisses from RIo!

  • I'm 44 when I was growing up my father introduced me to JAZZ....George Shearing,Toots Thielmans all of it and I appreciate it so much. He's gone now but I have the beauty of remembering his love everytime I hear JAZZ.....r.i.p dad.

  • you could sing the Yellow Pages and I'd pay to see it

  • I always felt like this song has so much more of a sense of longing and desire in Portuguese, its weird, I know but still.

  • 64 people people don't like this song?! no class ans a tin ear!!!

  • man i wish i were there

  • Diana, I am your slave. Command me.

  • well, you can't clap on bossa nova

  • @tavadigelovani I'm brazilian and I agree with you. Anyway, the audience realized they can't clap on bossa nova and stopped soon.

  • she's the best female jazz vocalist ever!! i saw her live in cologne 2 years ago and her performance was as awesome as this!

  • I love the fact that the audience is all singiing along with this song, great effect!!

  • I love "The Boy from Ipanema" by Peggy Lee. In my opinion, the voice of Diana Krall is not the best option for this wonderful song.

  • Diana Krall's invitation to the Brazilian audience evoked a spontaneous collaboration in both English and the original Portuguese and the results were spectacular in this rendition of the song! Many thanks to whoever posted it to the web for us to enjoy.

  • Amazing performer, amazing song, amazing crowd!

  • ScottThomas love you and my family that understand my work1 I could not do this without all of your support and love.

  • And when they sing it's in Portuguese hahahaha. I know they're in Rio but still its a song written in English

  • @mikthebik The music was translated to English, it was originally written in Portuguese.

  • @vipseixas You are right - I apologise. Beautiful song, great example by Ms Krall and her band.

  • Where is the non-clap version ?

  • uma das melhores gravações....

  • that voice gives me a Impenema size woody

  • AMAZING

  • I can not get enough I love and put God FIRST,but I do love this music too!!!!!

  • I love the voice :)

  • I love her way she is so sizzling hot she sizzles only you would get it!!!

  • I hope all my friends did enjoy this still on vacation I do hope you are still listening or did tune in makes me want want to be 24 at least for 1day!!!!!

  • The "clappers" have no class. They belong at a NASCAR race.. Or, maybe they're in Barzil....

  • @007pml Absolutely right...... they belong to a folks music...

  • The "clappers" have no class. They belong at a NASCAR race.

  • magical synergy of perfomer and audience..

  • To all my class mates in my yoga class the 2 Taylor's, isnt this so amazing and to Tammy and Porshe and all my friends Peggy I just love this.I love her on the piano This class!!!

  • Can this woman ticle thew ivories or what. Probably the best jazz pianist on the scene today

  • @zackary1961 Of course she is great in her own way. But she is an average piano player and an average singer. But - it is still very nice to listen to her !

  • To all my friends, I told that you guys would find this so sexy and so amzing look at her on that piano!!!! The band is so wonderful to all my girlfriends, have fun with your lover whoever he or she is and be happy!!!!!

  • Taylor , I do hope you and yours have a wonderful time! But have a drink for me! Diana Kraull is so amazing!

  • Que show de bola.

  • ? what the fuck is this. does she even have a voice? or is she always blowing air in the microphone...damn wtf, sing it like it is, and if you cant, dont.

  • i love it!!!

  • LINNY I LOVE DIANA , I WISH I WAS THERE < I AGREE THE CLAPPING I COULD DO WITHOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEING IN RIO!!!!!!! SO ROMANTIC THOSE LATINS ARE SOMETHING ELSE , I LOVE THE TABLES AND CANDLES SO ROMANTIC!!!!!!!

  • This is SO beatuyfull!!!!

  • I love how the audience never claps on the off beats...

  • What a song, and great version of this song! I can't imagine whining about the audience singing along when there's much good you could point out. "There is light enough for those who wish to see, and darkness enough for those who can't" You ought to at least TRY to enjoy it...

  • i wish i was there!

  • My god almighty, what a wonderful performance..

  • this boy from ipanema was a girl.

  • 0.51: Look at the Guitarists face, he's thinking "Oh my god, not only are the audience making a ****ing awful noise, they aren't even in time!"

They can't sing in tune, either. Group 10/10, audience 0...

  • @SAHBfan The audience was not making a fucking noise. They were singing the song in Portuguese. Which is the language it was originaly written. I think that only the people who can speak both languages can appreciated this performance. She said in an interview that this was the most moving moment for her and the band in the show.

  • @TheJulianaps

"The audience was not making a fucking noise. They were singing the song in Portuguese."

I was referring to the clapping - at the start of the song, 0:44, the clapping is loud and quickly slips out of time. IMHO that is well annoying and ruins the song.

    And I didn't say "fucking"... ;-)

  • @SAHBfan hahahahah ok then I misunderstood, my bad. But I also don't agree that the clapping ruins the song. But that's ok too. We don't have to agree, we only to respect each other : )

  • @SAHBfan If you don't believe me just type : Diana Krall - Quiet Nights (legendado) then you will see the interview I just mentioned on youtube.

  • @SAHBfan Seriously? So all of them decided to start singing mumbo-jumbo synchronously? This is called Portuguese. It is a language spoken by 272 million of people around the world. Plus, it IS the language in which the song was originally written. By the way, they are actually in tune. Your comment is very dull.

  • @DiegoHCantor

"So all of them decided to start singing mumbo-jumbo synchronously? This is called Portuguese."

I was referring to the CLAPPING. It has already been discussed further down the thread, Look at 0.51, like I said in my post. It is where they start clapping... loudly.

Who said Mumbo Jumbo? No one in any post on this thread has criticised the Portuguese language, so why do you feel the need to defend it? Maybe you have a chip on your shoulder.

    Your comment is very pointless.

  • This is almost too good to be true ;)

  • Excellent version!!!

  • Meu Deus, isso é perfeito.

  • she is such a wonderful singer! and her teeth are so white! if you like bossa nova with a twist, you should take a look at this band who does the police message in a bottle with a bossa nova beatnik beat. veryyy cool.

    search manteca in a bottle

  • 51 people dont know where Ipanema is

  • who are the 51 bone heads who disliked this?

  • Muito bom! (Very good!) e quando a platéia começa a cantar junto... Sensacional!! (And when the audience starts to sing together ... Amazing!!)
