Why is Splinter's backstory never consistent? The original comic book says he was killed by Splinter (assuming, based on the giant Turtles crossover special), the 80s TV show says he was a human that turned into a rat-human mutant, the first movie says he was a rat that was trained in the ways of the ninja that mutated into a human-rat hybrid, this show says he was a "normal" New York City rat that mutated into a giant talking rat that just magically knew the way of the ninja.
