why do you care who he had sex with and what color their skin had? you come across as an unintelligent person when you define a person by his sexuality. and i think you probably are an unintelligent person.
I wish this was more of a debate, but I love the intellectual discourse of these two such brilliant men.
Baldwin in a very roundabout way did do a good job of describing why the Civil Rights Movement, its ideology, and intent was so important. Malcolm X generalizes a lot, clumping white people as one big racist clog, but then again this was as minister Malcolm X. I wish he was alive, I'd love to hear his opinions of the world today.
the "american negro" at this time was not the only person on earth who would be willing to lose thier identity. there were plenty of lgbt people who were so willing to lose thier identitiy that they spent their entire lives imitating a straight cisgender person. thank you for posting this, its impacting me profoundly.

@javan82 They weren't personal friends, but they had great respect for one another.

@javan82 Who knows for sure. But I do think that there was a possible mutual respect between them. At least, that's what I like to believe.

@javan82 I wouldn't go as far to say a friend but they definitely enjoyed one another's intellectual company for sure.
