Just seen your vid here , followed the link from Spyderco.com forum. I've been looking for a R.S. but the only one I seen for sale was $400+ ---- its a VERY good looking blade -- almost like a mini-Barong !!!
Btw -- I've studied FMA under the Great Master Dan Inosanto and my Datu Glen Dahms.
If you see this comment -- say Hello to me -- " DaBird " --- at the Spyderco Forum.
@ivageivage I have a Boker CLB Kerambit that was sent to me for review. I have a few magazine articles and other videos to do, so any video on Chad's kerambit will have to be put behind them. I'll keep it in mind, though. Thanks for the interest.
The Rock Salt works very well in pakal edge out. It is a bit big for pakal edge in, and, in any case, i am not a big fan of pakal edge in as a primary grip (for a number of reasons). Ed Schempp is a master of ergonomics and his knife designs usually just seem to meld with your hand, working well in a variety of grips. The Rock Salt is typical Schempp in this regard.
It is a great knife. I think you will be very pleased with it. I don't have any plans to do another video with the Rock Salt at the moment, but things change. The plan for the next video or two is to do some empty hand technique demonstration and some sparring footage.
Wow, finally got it in and I have to say. The ergos are great. I think on one of the knife forums Ed said he was influenced by the filipino culture in designing the Rock Salt. But the knife itself is a lot lighter than I expected. It is a shame it was discontinued. I am glad I got mine before they all disappear. Great Knife.

Thanks for the review. I think you convinced me to get the knife. Looks like it would be a decent fighter.

You really like Spydies, do you? ;)

I love the knife but it's out of my budget. It looks like a kukri made for combat

Thanks for the comments. Ed Schempp is a great designer and he outdid himself on this blade. You will not be disappointed.

Nice vid. He has great trust in you for sure. :)
I like how you take a Rock Salt and show what you can do with it. Well, not what I can do with it but somebody trained such as yourself.
All in all great stuff!
