He does say that before the Europeans arrived in Samoa we did have War, for example the conflict with the Malietoa in the early 1900. Were we cutting eachothers head off, sure we were, but not as often as palagi's like to think we do. But as far as size goes for us Polynesian, well we find exuses to throw feasts.
