I can't believe Donna was 62/63 years old when this was made... it's obviously working for her. I thought she was under 40. For people that don't want to buy her products, you could create rejuvelac (the water from fermented wheat or rye). It's full of good bacteria that is perfect for this. You can also use rejuvelac with your nuts and seeds, this way you ferment them so the body can absorb it much easier.
ugh......blah blah blah for 30 minutes....hawking her own products that aren't necessary.....for something that should take about 5 minutes to demonstrate. ugh..
@furryjeff100 OMG ISN'T THAT THE TRUTH? This is just ridiculous. Not only that but it's such a SLEEPY presentation (maybe she needs some of David Wolfe's Cacao LOL)...no enthusiasm, very depressing actually considering how 'important' these are supposed to be...I thought I could get thru these videos, but I seriously can't ! I'll find a different source of information. The fact that she is pushing her products and doesn't give people any other options...that's just not authentic IMO
Yum! Just finished canning my first ever batch of sauerkraut. Should be out of this world!!! My favorite music video right now is, "Armin van Buuren ft Sharon den Adel - In and Out of Love"! It's absolutely delightful!
@cortezangel The Body Ecology Diet website has culture starters and the names of the healthy bacteria as well as many archived newsletters that are full of helpful information at no charge. On the site you can also link to their facebook page.
I have made 3 batches of cultured veggies using Body Ecology starter and the basic recipe shown in this video-love them! So worth it :)

Can one reuse the liquid from sauerkraut as a 'starter' in place of whey? I want to try to make fermented apple chutney but I don't want whey as I cut whey out of my diet.
Have you or anyone ever tried to use the liquid from fermenting something and used it as a starter? I will have to add salt anyway to the fruit anyway.
kevin, you mentioned that the cultured vegies helped bring your flora back to balance. did you have candida? and if so, what were your symtoms and what is your diet like now? I'm doing the bed diet and am looking for some inspiration. it's so hard to stay on it.
Can someone please message me a simple recipe for cultured food without adding body ecology stuff? I just want a simple way to make something like kim chee without adding supplements and stuff I need to purchase online. Thanks
@IamDemetri00 See 'fermenting foods with Sandor Katz' here on YT. He does a great vid on veggie fermenting with just vegetables and some salt. I've got a vitamix, so I like to use Sandor's method with a bit of brine created with way Donna does here. Good luck.

Easybeats 'Friday On My Mind'. No I'm not that old just very cool :)
Thanks you two for this incredible series with Donna Gates. I am a behind on the cultured veggies but catching up fast.
Love your show. Your research/experience with Cacao was so right on as it makes me so sick when I eat it.

And what are your sources? Fermented foods are good for your body. Check out Nourishing Traditions or the Weston Price Foundation.
