  • Very good. Congratulations!

  • for everyone who thinks that this solo was written for trumpet you are wrong it was written for cornet and sounds much better on cornet than trumpet and i agree with eshedilan it is to heavy

  • @littleninja94 Yes, the 1911 version of Petrushka was written for cornet (2 cornets and 2 trumpets). The 1947 version is written for trumpet!!! (3 trumpet parts). Though I agree the Ballerina's Dance should be lighter, he did a nice job here. Personally I would use and Eb trumpet which is much lighter. But that is my preference.

    cheers.

  • love it! great job man!

  • Out of tune with who? The snare drum...

  • i like how the clarinetist bobs his head to the trumpet solo

  • bravvvvvooooooooo it's really difficult but great work in here. Well done

  • Just to mention the kid playing was only 17 years - on his birthday!

  • we had a trumpet soloist in marching band who played this solo this past year...he's an extremely talented young man...and this is a VERY difficult solo for a high school level...especially marching...very well played whoever played this... :D

  • Played by young trumpeter (16) Goni Eshed with the Malmo Music School (Sweden)

  • Sehr gut! This is my favorite part of Petrouchka

  • Great job! Any tips for playing it? I need to play it for an audition!

  • The Principle Trumpet Player of The Pittsburgh Symp. Plays this on C Cornet

    Imagine That

  • WAYYYYY too heavy! Listen to the recording on Phil Smith's orchestral excerpts CD - he gives a great explanation as to how it should be played, and plays it extremely well

  • Would you play this on a Bb or a C or even a Cornet?

  • as a trumpet player myself and I have played the solo before. It is written in Bb and makes life easier to play it on a Bb I have seen people play it on a C. But not a cornet I think.

  • Yeah you have to play it on C trumpet, it's what you'd play the whole piece on anyway

  • you don't have to play it on a C trumpet. What makes you say you have to play it on a C trumpet

  • It fits nicely on C, if you played the whole petrushka with an orch you'd be on C, there isn't a professional orchestra in the world where the conductor and the rest of the trumpet section would let you get away with doing it on a Bb

  • Hmm, real professional input here. It started with a educated conversation and instantly turned into a flamewar by some kid who stalks YouTube users and makes pretty lame remarks. Good Effort. rates11 you should really apologize to the video owner: eshedilan

  • what's your problem

  • Trumpet??? I ask again: why do you have me blocked on your page? You searched me out yet you have me blocked. Are you angry that I informed the Navy where you live so they can come for a "don't speak, don't tell" visit with you and your mom? Anyway, I know you missed me. Write back soon.

  • People like you shouldn't be aloud to talk, have computers, vote, or maybe even live...

If you can't say anything that has to do with the clip why do you even type?

  • Hey Devil. What did your mother say when you told her that you've been selling your ass for such little money. I bet she was upset because she can get twice what you do. Anyway, your family depicts capitalists at their best. Good luck with your assventures.

  • Well done. It must be such a hard task to play it with an orchestra. Nice work!

  • great

  • Very nice, great accuracy! Clean and good projection. I have to play this excerpt soon and really like your interpretation.

  • Sorry it's too heavy, too long to be installing in YouTube

  • I wish to watch all the vid!!
