To me, Raistlin's voice is whispery, but raspy too (a little bit). I don't think Alan could pull it off, he always sounds bored in all his movies. Not aloof (like Raistlin might be) just bored. Then again, that's just my opinion...

LotR and The Hobbit had both better animation adaptions (by far), and stories backing them. That is what it took for Hollywood to produce a decent fantasy movie... they won't touch this one or do it justice now that they have a plausible excuse.
