Me and my friend were just talking about how the music went for this stage and we BOTH forgot how it went completely, he remembered finally before me I was to prideful to look it up, so to remember i watched this video to help me remember.

you know, you would be trapped at the end of act 2 forever if Knuckles didn break that bridge for you. knuckles tries to be an asshole but helps you get to your destination. quite amusing acually

Out of curiosity, what purpose do the loopbacks and "sewers" actually have?

Another glitch with the act 1 mini-boss music is that it isn't playing the Sonic 3 mini-boss theme in the first place. It's playing the Robotnik battle theme for some reason.

I once recently entered "the sewer" but in a total diferent and easy way xD I was running at full speed whit Hyper Sonic and then I ended up stuck in one of those ramps that let you run in a vertical angle, sending me trough the floor and ending my glitch journey in the sewer D: I was surprised that this glitch appeared in here, so mouch that I tell my sewer adventure here xD Good job with these videos man, really interesting to watch ^^

I worked out one glitch for Marble Garden, if you hit the Sonic boss at the end enough times as Super Sonic or Hyper Sonic, the game glitches, and he still breaks the floor while he is dead then Tails doesn't pick you up and you die D=.

Can anyone explain this glitch?

I had debug mode on, and I had beaten the miniboss normally. Then, when I went down into act 2, I couldn't move forward or backward, like the left and right boundaries of the boss hadn't unlocked. I tried to move up and down with debug mode, but it took me to the "Hydrocity sewers..."

The sewer part is actually an unfinished level called "Underwater Palace". Sega had a due date for the game and it was almost up so they left out "Underwater Palace" and now it is just a mess.

umm i am not too good at coding so maybe thats because i fail to see the logic in that but why do all these levels loop? why are the first stages still around when the second ones are loaded?

I'm guessing it saves space to load both acts at once, considering they're both using the same palette.

It's probably a space-saving measure, but it's also how they made more seamless levels where the screen doesn't have to fade to black between acts like in Sonic 1 and 2.

on second look, i did it without super sonic and if you jump in the water before the victory pose, you can still die from drowning meaning you'll go back to the last star post.
