When Rei gets through the end of the Mansion and Defeats Reika, I'm assuming the curse is over, because at the end of the credits you see Rei and Miku sitting at the ocean looking at the sunset. So to answer your question, no, Rei doesn't stay at that house forever. Use wikipedia and stuff to your advantage for more info. ^_^

the reason he has trouble with her is because he forgot her special: she apears in front, then dissapears and grabs you from behind, basically, just try and take a picture, if she dissapears, run forward quick and turn around, should get her square in the frame and get at least a couple fatals of on her

Their hands were spiked while they were alive so they could perform "The Piercing of the Soul" ritual properly - and perhaps to use their spiked hands as weapons due to them being guardians of the Kuze Shrine. Their eyes were gouged out and as a result their senses became heightened - as ghosts they are very hard to avoid.
