  • it's not wjfc it's wifc wausau wisconsin

  • Most of the jingles sound like Ernie Anderson (the voice of Abc)

  • Michiana = In between Michigan and Indiana.

  • "serving the universe...From the top of the Empire State Building...New York's #1 Radio Station...Z100 New York!"

  • @Brinah and they still serving the universe

  • Hey I still remember the serving fun universe wifc since I was a kid

  • serving fun universe wifc u 93 those are the ones I remember hearing it from I think that one of the coolest jingles in the usa when y 107 nashville was on the air I heard there too

  • Michiana is Michigan and Indiana. The big cities around there are South Bend, Gary, Grand Rapids, and Kalamazoo.

  • KPLZ used Killer B96 from TM Studios. Not a JAM jingle at all. Allthough they used Ernie Anderson as the VO.

  • Today's Best Music is also used by Manila's Magic 89.9

  • lol you never cease to amaze me this is good stuff.... jesus d='

  • Serving the Universe.... was then changed on XM Radio to Coast to Coast Radio on the 80's channel.

  • @DBR00 I loved that Coast to Coast Radio jingle on XM

  • you're right, WMEE did have cut 10. and it seems that the WPLJ commercial promo came true. Z100 was cool in the 80's and 90's, and now there zit100!

  • "Serrrrrrrrrrrrrving the Universeeeeeeeeeeee!" was originally used at rock stalwart WMMS/Cleveland from the late 70s (if not earlier) until 2000. Z100 was launched by WMMS' owners in 1983. Which is partially why Ernie Anderson was used for the top-of-hour IDs.

  • Is that Ernie Anderson of WABC, KABC and KGO TV doing the KPLZ ID?

  • Jam creative,, fantastic cookie cutter jingles spread across the country

    LOL

  • Also to add Sou. Cal.'s radio market was the 2nd most populated in the country, a strong economy back in the '80s before hard times in the early '90s and proximity to Mexico, where "border radio" owners had a heyday in freedom in wattage limits (actually, none in Mexican law) but in the late '80s Mexican government began to interfere. CKLW 810Windsor/Detroit is a faded memory, the Canadian government required them to play 3 hours of Canadian artist songs and CBC talk programs for Detroit.+

  • Thanks for posting Z100-FM, the East coast's answer to KISS-FM I grew up with in So. Cal. one of the first superstations in FM radio back in the '80s. Now about the Z100 (KQLZ) in L.A., I thought was actually from San Diego (KZSD) and was competiting with X-91 down there. But not every spot in So. Cal. was able to receive Z100 and KISS-FM 102.7, it depended on what car stereo you have and was until later affiliates arrived in the exteriors of So. Cal. (100-150 miles from L.A.) in the '90s.+

  • The Same Jingle Package (from JAM) have been used on BBC Radio 1 in the U.K and on the former Capital Radio Dublin,Ireland

  • The Second Rendition Jingle is for "EASTON" not "Houston".

It's an online station originated in Easton, PA.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong didn't WMEE have a jingle similar to this.

  • the jingle at 1:43 is the versio used for RJ 100.3 in the Philippines

  • That Houston station is none other than world famous KRBE, then known as "Power 104".

  • Actually it's from a internet station called "80's Hit Machine" and the city is Easton in Pennsylvania.

Good stuff. I've enjoyed hearing the montage of cut 10 from JAM's "Turbo Z" package.

  • I miss both Power 104KRBE and Club104KRBE. They played special mixes of hit music back then. They would also take the background adlibs out of certain songs (which to this day I am still trying to do) They continued their special mixes until Labor Day of 1991. I would say after 2000 KRBE sucks.

  • 100.3 was the cooliest radio station during the 80's and early 90's then it went all club and dance music and became lame.

  • I agree. I used to love Z100 in the 80s and early 90s. I am no longer a fan of that station.

  • Great.

JAM IS THE NUMBER ONE PLACE FOR JINGLES!!

  • Michiana is the area where the States of Indiana and Michigan meet, aka Todd Clem's (Bubba The Love Sponge) old stomping grounds.

  • Some great stuff by JAM as well!

  • That's Brian James as the V/O

HE'S THE SAME WHO DOES THE V/O's for a station in Jersey -- WTHK "The Hawk"

    "#1 For Classic Rock!"

  • and WAYV Atlantic City...

  • Very impressive collection, I love all the old radio station jingles. I live near South Bend and haven't heard the old U93 jingle in years, Thanks!
