I wish I knew more styles. I want to learn how to use a Katana so bad...I mean I could try and make my own style but it is like I need to know the basics I would think.
this is kinda a random question but i rlly need 2 know! XD um i went 2 a class of karate nd Iaidō nd i noiced u shout out alot ... do u just shout out weneva or do u hav 2?? btw wow XD i rlly wanna start now!
This is quite a while ago now. I agree, not great.
I watch these vids now and it looks like I'm doing everything in slow-motion.
There are many small technical errors and a few big ones too, but looking back, I'm pretty happy with these forms after beginning Iai a year and a half earlier.
I can't remember exactly how long I'd been working on Toho at the time this vid was taken, 6 to 8 months I guess.
I am currently studying the toho set and noticed a few minor details that differ from the school of iaido that i am learning. But the form was amazing the speed and accuracy was impressive to behold.
I was really pleased with these kata when I posted them, but they're a bit old now. I feel (I hope!) I've improved since then.
I'd be interested to learn what differences you picked up on. Please write me about them. I'm studying Muso Jukiden Eishin Ryu, which Ryu do you study?
Prendre la position seiza est déja mauvaise pas de regard devant. La main gauche est faible. les hanches sont en arrière pas de rétroversion du bassin. c'est très mauvais
Hi, regarding this matter, pardon me but may I ask how tall you are? Myself using 2.5 and am 181cm tall. After 3 years of practice it's becoming somewhat short and am thinking of moving towards 2.55 or even 2.6 Did you have any issues in the beginning using such a long sword? Hipmovement, sayabike etc... Regards
Thank you IaidoPeople. I don't know either! I have pointed out the faults in many of the Iai videos here on Youtube and I suspect I have made a few enemies... small minded folks, you know?

@Animaltricks18 The ki-ai (shout) is part of the waza and it always happens at the final cut before notou.

Thanks for your comments Konotani!
I'm surprised!
I thought Muso Shinden Ryu students studied the Toho kata too, aren't you?
Anyway, thanks for watching, I'd like to see some videos of your kata too sometime.

I have only just attained my second dan so I still practice with a mogitou. My sensei helped me order it here in Japan.
It's length is 二尺六寸(ni shaku roku sun) so that's right around 78.78 centimeters, though I have never measured it properly.

!!二尺六寸~!!(~ ̄▽ ̄~)that's very long for me~!! NICE ONE~!!

Do you use a shinken or a mogitou?
Which school of Iai do you study? and for how long have you been learning?
So many questions!!! :)
