  • nice vid

  • what type of fender is this? im buying one with the same bridge, the guy claims it's an american standard.

  • Say what??? This guy gives no usable information whatsoever. I get the impression he's not sure about what he's doing. expertvillage needs to delete or replace this short clip with one with some substance IMHO.

  • what is the size of the screw of the bridge coz i lost mine...

  • what is the exact name of this guitar

  • @dmohr7 american (or mexican cant really tell in the video) standard stratocaster with (I guess) a sunburst finish

  • @spiffication American Standard HSS, it says Corona, California on the neck plate in the other video. The color is Cherry Burst.

  • lol he's fucking up his bridge with the wrong allan key

    fail

  • LOL this fuktard isnt even using the right size allan key. "Expert village" strikes again!

  • Don't know what this is about. Not very informative or usable. Rubbish !

  • Jackson SLMG all fucking day \m/

  • Check out my new 2009 USA strat, changed the pickups to Bare Knuckle "Trilogy Suite" set

  • i have the problem that wen i play anny string on the first fret it sounds out of tuna allmost ass if it was some thing relly wrong but on all the other frets it sounds just fine.Shall i check the height of the strings or waths wrong?

  • @hatten7575 it sounds like a problem with intonation. that's either because the fret was placed wrongly from the factory, or your guitar's intonation is not set perfectly. i'd take it into a guitar tech to have it looked at to see which of these it is.

  • @AirgunAddict256 ...also.....depending on the style and brand of guitar........the intonation can change depending on the position it's in. I have set up some guitars....especially elec bass's that have very flexable necks that play fine in one position......but if you slightly tilt the body into you it will change

  • i have a fender strat, just put on new strings.

all strings are in tune, and the intonation seems right, but when i play more than one note at a time (i.e chords), they sound really out of tune.. any suggestions on how to fix that?

  • that sounds like an intonation problem. I would consider checking it for every note on every string and see if they're all in tune.

  • @GraveDiggerIII reemember when you're checking intonation dont use harmonics. Thats very inaccurate. Use the fretted 12th fret and the open string.

  • @Danklin24 you always want the harmonic on the 12th to be the exact same pitch as the fretted 12th tho

  • @pilotoatomico I know but thats for intonation. Has very little to do with setting string height according to a pickup which can also have varying heights.

  • @pilotoatomico oops sorry i missed the point of your post. Well checking intonation with harmonics is very inaccurate. You want to check the open string against the fretted note at the 12th fret. Should be as close to the same as possible.

  • hes doing it totaly wrong

  • ok i stringed it up like i always do but when i go to tune it, the bridge lifts up like really far and its shouldnt. what should i do?

  • @MeekyCheeky1 yea tighten the 2 screws in back of guitar and tune up and keep doing so until the sping and string tension are eqaul and that gives you your bridge angle

  • you might want to put an extra spring or two in the back and make sure to tighten up the screws after.

  • can pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaasssssseeee someone tell me what is the name of those pickups? coz i wanna make a set of those on my stagg i300

  • @blasbal

    Get a new guitar dude.

    Stagg's suck.

  • i did buy a new guitar.. i bought a Hamer SATF and its pretty good.. but i still wanna use the stagg :/ and all i need is new pickups and the fender ones are great

  • what do i do if i have a standard fender stratocaster and the strings lay directly on the fretoard ?

  • Uhhh... wrong size allen wrench Beavis huh huh, huh! STONED!

  • i wanna have one of those guitars XD cuz when i play my guitar its just hard to play cus the strings are high o.O

  • get it set up adjust your neck and nut or truss rod

  • u can adjust it on any electric guitar.

  • Ok, so when I realized that I could fuck with the saddle, I put everything as low as I could, without making "Dead strings". I dont do the whole roll thing, low top higher middle and low bottom. The only thing I notice is that when not plugged in, some of the higher frets sound weird on the High E and and b and g, plugged in however sounds fine. Is this that wrong? I like the way it feels, but is there a reason to do it in the standard way, or is it just what people have learned to do?

  • there is no wrong way at all, aslong as its in tune and intonated its up to you if it feels better keep it that way just make sure the notes ring out.

  • legacykev- are you setting it up w/ new strings?

  • Hey .. great vids. I cannot get enough play on my tremolo to get the top string intonated. It is all the way back, and I have tilted the neck a bit, and also tightened the springs. Still cannot get the top string in. Fender American Deluxe Strat .. a few months old. Please help.

  • Hello, did you get your string fixed? If not, try a bigger string than what you got on their now, let me know if you got it right. I had the same problem, with the same guitar.

  • If I were to do it again, I'd consider a squier, rough it up with some 400 sandpaper to make it look old, and then just wail on that thing on the road. I'm too worried about Fing up my mexi strat since they've gone up in price/reputation.

  • You aint kiddding bout the mexicans price hike, in the Uk they have gone up a fortune for a mid 90s in good nick. i was offered £400 for mine but refused all the same.

  • ok i have a dumb question. Apparently my strat was set up so all the strings are even, is this wrong? I mean are the strings meant to have a noticeable curve to them?

  • I hope you didn't pay for them to be set up flat. It will make it harder to solo. Curve is good.

  • Hey, I just posted a comment with the same overall theme. I have everything in line and flat, and I like it that way, it gives me insane action, but did you ever find out if the whole "curve" thing matters?

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

your pobabley thinking why are you laugthing

  • i know what im laughing about, your spelling haha

  • Well, I'm lauging at your grammar

  • well im "lauging" at your spelling too hahah

  • Looks like three retards laughing about nothing to me...

Run along kiddies! I hear Aunt Marie just made banana pie!

  • lol - right on...

  • Thanks.... Ive got a question...

One of the bridge string height adjustment screws on the D string, on my Squier strat, isn't holding the saddle up(when i tune up the string, the saddle drops down)... it's apparently loose..... what can I do?

  • i have the same problem with my squier

  • i think tht was a defect in squiers because i owned one a few years back and it seemed to have the same problem hopefully by now they have realized the defect and have improved

  • No offence but you screwed yourself when you bought that squier, i got a splinter from playing one of those

  • LOL how does a splinter stick out?

and yes i hope they have realized the defect cause i just ordered a new squier bridge off ebay... 2009 version apparently...got it for $15... i was actually looking for those roller saddles but they were all USA strat spaced(usa spacing is bigger than import strat spacing) so they wouldnt fit mine.

  • yes,but i just lerned 1 year ago,now i hava plans of buying a shecter from 350-500 or a vg strat

  • 08 mexican strats have 9.5 radius. UNLESs it is a replica of a 50's strat then it would be 7.5

  • i need answers. please. I have a silvertone strat copy. I think it is a silvertone citation. i was wondering if the tremolo arm is supposed to be a floating arm? and if so, how do i adjust the springs? please answer i need help.

  • lol

  • Thank you javadude54. Pretty valuable stuff. is this only on a strat or will this work on most any solid body?

  • Any guitar with adjustable saddles. A good rule of thumb is that there should be (with a capo on the first fret and holding the string down on the highest fret) enough relief to pass an average size business card under the 1st string at the 7th fret (wire). Use a ruler to adjust the string height for best results. The more uniform the string height, the easier the guitar will be to play. Start with 1/16" and adjust from there. If the string buzzes, raise it up a bit.

  • You can try contacting the dealer you got it from and asking them... or e-mailing Fender from their website. The ones with the smaller radius will have a more rounded fingerboard. The larger radius will have a flatter fingerboard. A quick Google search informs me that Mexican Strat fingerboards come in more than one radius. You might try doing a google search on your guitar's exact model name. This info should have been provided with your guitar on the sales slip or other paperwork.

  • Doing it by eye will get you in the ballpark but a good string height adjustment requires the use of a ruler. From a site where they know what they are doing, here are the recommended string heights for a strat: String eight at the 14th fret Neck Radius 7.25" Height - Bass side 5/64" Height - Treble Side 4/64" Neck Radius 9.5" to 12" Height - Bass side 4/64" Height - Treble Side 4/64" Neck Radius 15" to 17" Height - Bass side 4/64" Height - Treble Side 3/64"
  • u can't use allen wrench !

  • thats an american fender isnt it?

  • It is an american deluxe strat. I can tell because of the tremolo bridge, the pickguard and the Seymour Duncan pick ups. But who knows? Maybe it is a Mexican strat modified.

  • mm yeah

    mexicans hace 21 frets

    so yes you are right

  • If you loosen your strings first, you wont wear out your allen wrench,or your screws.

  • also my ibanez could never be with a good setup, now that i returned the epiphone les paul standard to the store, i got this fender stratocaster mim guitar and now this.... it already had a setup in the store free help please..! also when i use the whammy bar it sounds like the strings are poping something like that, but if i keep pushing it down it stops, then again.

  • i get that popping sound too its frustrating when amped up really ruins the point

  • Nice job on using the wrong allen wrench.

  • what the? slow down and stop wiggling your allen key.

  • might be a simple neck adjustment: sinch your neck allen towards you if its bowed ...and move the allen head away from you if its bending backwards

  • my fenders action is just right at the lower frets like 1 through 7 but once i get up higher teh action is wayy to high how to adjust it in that specific spot without getting buzz?
