What are you doing messing with the snake like that? It was just crossing the street, minding its own business, and then you come along and ruin the day.
I am enjoying your cautiousness and your effort for uploading these Great videos….!!! I myself is a snake lover and i know how you feel handling this monocle.
She is a Beauty….; in ‘Bangladesh’ have the same species (Naja kaouthia) but sadly they are hard to find due to habitat loss……;
if u pay me 1 mil cash, gimme 5 hot chicks n Brad Pitts villa in LA, id start thinking about getting that close to a cobra. But the video was awesome keep uploading.
leave the poor snake alone i dont think you'd be very happy if somethin big and scary was pokin you with a stick and this is exactly how u hear of people gettin bit you had shorts on that snake coulda went right over n bit ya man..
Just some constructive critisism, if your not aware of what the snake is capable of doing, such as being a spitting cobra, then you probably aren't experienced enough to be handling that creature lol, I'm not bitching, in fact I enjoyed the video and the extent you went to just to protect yourself. And no, Monacled Cobras aren't spitters ;) but I'm sure your aware of that already :)
@littlebrittle18 Lol, this is like the 7th comment about that... I've deleted a bunch of them. You're seeing it from the perspective of the camera guy. When I first saw it I couldn't see the monocle on the back of his neck because he wasn't flared up. I wasn't able to get a good look for a while. That being the case, there was no way I was going to risk getting spit in the eye. I was just on the motorbike and jumped off - my helmet is for the mbike -not for spitting cobras. lol.
surprisingly awesome clip. Thanks for sharing. I don't think I'd be that brave if I saw a cobra in the road while driving my motorcycle. I get nervous just seeing a sugar cane leaf in the road :)
@7muktar I just got off the motorbike... and nobody knew it was a monocled until we saw the back of the head... AND some that look like monocled in TH - spit.
LOVE your video! i have kept many venomous snakes , including monical cobras. you did a great job "sticking" him, and pretty wise to shield your eyes until you were sure. great clips, keep 'em coming.
Awesome footage. Super cute snake. I can imagine what he's thinking every time he tries to escape and ends up in the same place. Lol. Must be frustrating. "Damn you human, I know you're the one making this happen to me."
@r9m3 And I have to wonder if you have ever had an animal in captivity... dog, cat, fish, turtle, hermit crab, bird, etc. Do you eat fish? Meat? Chicken? Crab? Shell-fish? Lobster? Probably they all want to be left alone too.
@thaipulsedotcom yes, when I was child I had a dog. Not now. Yes, I eat all of them except lobster because it is not cheap here in my city. And I agree with you, there is no right for me or any body else to eat them. You are right.
@thaipulsedotcom I just wonder how tired you must be of some very stupid comments and judgment some people like so, much to give lessons to others that make them feel good about themselves a bit superior they are just boring and irritating
@dumdum5 it's funny - I must have had 50 comments from people that thought I was harassing the hell out of the snake. I wasn't teasing it with the stick. I wasn't putting it in a dangerous situation. I wasn't harming it. I was looking at it... Some readers called me things that were flat out astounding... oh well, right? Some of these same clowns "own" cats, dogs, fish, and birds. lol...
Cobra's are shy and will easily try to escape any harm, quickly exiting and only striking if cornered.
I live in Ban Klong Tong Nuea, about ten kilometers from Sadao and have seen numerous cobras in the area, along with reticulated pythons and other rather nasty tree snakes.
Nice video. My video turned out grainy and too dark, yours was outside (I found my cobra in the damn house) so you had the benefit of good lighting.
@jimbad1 Right. But, you're incorrect about the tree snakes being "nasty". They have no animosity toward you or anyone else, they are just doing what they are programmed to do.
I often say 'aggressive' and I've heard herpetologists say the same thing. It's wrong, the snakes are defensive, and they are ready to bite. Besides the copperheaded racer and King Cobras I've not had any snakes advance toward me in in order to strike. Even then - they were being defensive because I provoked it.
How does a cobra get into your house? Just wondering? I have spent many months in Thailand and would be on the next plane home if I ever saw a snake inside where I was living, cobra or any kind of snake?!
That's not very reassuring! I have been to Thailand several times and spent many months there. I plan to live there for part of the year at some point in the future. But knowing THIS, I don't think I could do it, if I ever saw a snake there, I would freak the f_ck out.
