MGMT perform Kids Austin City Limits using a giant crystal?

I could not figure out what that was, the girl i was with said why was he using a crystal, but I thought why would he have a crystal? So I told her that wasn't a crystal and i was left to ponder. God, I wish I got that close to the stage. I was close but not that close. Did you push your way up there or did you wait there hours before?

Ugg we pushed our way up during The Fratellis and waited there for like 4 hours and it was miserable and some of the people around us were jerks. It was a good show, but in hindsight I would've rather stayed a little further back, so really, don't feel bad. Your overall experience was probably better than mine haha

would i be correct in saying that the crystal was used for it's vibrations??

i know some crystals are used to provide ultrasound... don't know if this is based on the same principle though.
