OK, This is a pisser. I did the latest update...and yes it has landscape but HEY they took out the voice prompts!!!

Which they publically posted in all their marketing and support statements were going to be included NOT taken out...so that you could BUY another product...and they don't even give you a break on their broken promises.

I believe that is called BAIT and SWITCH which I believe is ILLEGAL.

This would make a nice class action suit dammit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're right, I've had the app for a while, no landscape mode (ahem...update please!) nor split screen or speedometer (update please!). The voice is nice, as well as the voice directions, but would really like landscape mode.

the 1.3.1. doesnt have any features i was expecting to be like in the video except it was the same interface and turn by turn

This is NOTHING like the new 1.3.1 software just released for the 3.0 iPhone. The only major difference between 1.3 is the voice turn-by-turn commands, which is good, but nothing like this video. Also, can't have music in the background so whats the point unless you like to drive without music or not hear commands over your car stereo.

-Looks nothing like what is shown

-No landscape mode

-No new menu options, voice prompts, or spoken streets

-No split screen lane pop-up

-No speedometer

I don't think 1.3.1 is the final version...just a temporary fill-in until we get to the version seen in this video.

We've been getting a LOT of emails about the release of G-Map for 3.0

Believe me, I'm TOTALLY looking forward to the 3.0 release as are a lot of other people.

I emailed the developer today to ask when the release is expected.

I'm betting the App store is backed up with 3.0 Apps.

When we get some info, we'll shoot it your way!

It seems as though they aren't providing you with much info either. I have had very little success with support. I hope the upgrades remain free, as you stated, because they have already gone up $10 on the 1.3.1 alone, and their website states it's going even higher. I hope someone gets some info on the version of this video as it's awesome.

the dedicated have simpler interfaces, doesnt take that many clicks, and the voice is slightly better, this is kind of too computery

and real ones have better recievers, but thats apples fualt

It'll be interesting to see what kind of competition G-Map will face in the Iphone GPS Wars. Will Telenav, Sygic, and Garmin all be releasing GPS apps for the iphone as well with 3.0? One can only hope. G-Map has stepped up their game which is good because the competition is going to get fierce.

have been a long time TomTom user on a Palm Treo. This G-Map looks like it will take the place of that. So far, though, I have not been able to figure out how to create a "favorite" or POI, like home or office, so I can get a route back. Hope this version does that.

That's awesome! I love G-Map! I can't wait for this version to come out! Is it going to have a portrait option? I like my iPhone vent clip that I have now, but it's only vertical. Am I going to have to buy another car mount just so I can use G-Map?
