question! so when u record videos! and when u plug tha camera to tha computer by using a USB cord! all ur files come up on tha comp that u recorded right? and if so what file type are they? and say if i record on full 1080P HD do i need to buy a special blank DVD to burn a HD video clip onto it? thanks!!
@Badboykilla96 The files are .MTS and they are openable with the OEM software that comes with the camera or Mac Final cut Pro and Adobe Premiere. I haven't tried burning a DVD yet, but I guess that you would have to export it out through editing software and the programme will format it.
wow this vid is insane! Thanks for posting this. Did you use a firewire cable to transfer to your pc? Also, how big is this file when you uploaded it to youtube? Just wondering how long it took to upload a file this long. Thanks!
That is an insanely nice camera for the money...absolutely blows away my Sony. I might have to take a trip to Best Buy for one of these. Very Very Nice!!! As you have shown in this video, one could realistically use this camera to capture some nice commercials, or movie shorts. Very nice job.
Hey this is great example of the canon. did you have auto focus on or manual on? And did you walk that slow with the camera or slowed it down in the editing process?
Hi, Good Job! Can you please tell me after you had the video in the camera what did you use to save it and in what format What format was it uploaded to youtube in Thanks Grant
Thanks. For this video I used Windows movie maker, so it's a wmv file. The camera saves as AVCHD, and these days I edit in AVCHD and then convert to wmv afterwards.
The OEM software gives instant playback, and Adobe Premiere and, I think, Vegas Pro have AVCHD codecs so you can preview without encoding.
Now I've got the settings right in Premiere Pro, rendering and encoding aren't that bad. Encoding takes about 30sec per 1sec footage, rendering depends on what effects you are doing.
what if you just wanted to see the video you took on your camera unedited with on 24mbps mode? does it only take that long to encode if you're editing it?
The AVS 6 profile was HD video 1080p, 29.97fps, WMV9, 9000kpbs. I just tried my first native AVCHD edit using Premiere Pro, with a 2.93ghz core2duo, 4gb RAM, Vista 64bit, NVIDIA 9300 GM S card. The editing was pretty painless, but Adobe Encoder took 2 hours to do a 10 second sequence, which came out very jumpy, so I'm not posting it, and will have another go.
Could you tell us your settings for AVS Video Converter 6? Like, what format, frame rate, etc. do you convert the MTS file to?
Also, please let us know how Adobe Premiere works. I have read that the AVCHD editing is essentially unusable unless you have a super-powerful computer, and maybe not even then.
I should add to the previous comment that the encoding took ages and was jerky because I should have rendered some slo-mo clips before encoding. normal footage takes about one minute per second footage to encode on my machine.
What's up with the watermark?

I want this camera so bad. But why is there such an awful motion blurr when you pan walk with it?
MrSniffles06 2 years ago
I was just getting used to it. Now I've used it more it's not so bad. Depends on the shutter speed and how much light you got.

Nice shots, but it's a shame how this camera misses most colors, accuracy-wise. Looks surreal.
