this tutorial is ok, but you move so fast. Its hard to create along with the video b/c you move so dang fast!!! give us a chance so we dont have to pause every 3 seconds.
secretsounds co uk - a network for users to find/preview/download presets that sound like your favourite artists for free, could use some input, could become an awesome site
you really make Reason sound really good and you actually use the synths most producers (that are big) use samples of hardware synths and load em into the NN-XT which is a VERY powerful samlpler my god is it good anyway would love to hear your take on some techno or itchy scratchy type tek house hmm?
@gibsonmozart Being signed is sometimes a bad idea tho, they rape your money. If you can advertise yourself with all the free services out there then that's the better idea in some cases.
aye loki is the master of reason. i gotta be honest i think hes gifted. i thank him for posting thse videos aswell. alot of people would be peavish and not show you how thy do things but loki does. thats why i got nuff respect for him :D keep up the awsome tunes loki
Thanks for the awesome tutorials! Can you please do one on Mixing? I followed your Mastering tutorial and my finished tracks are still quiet compared to yours! Thanks again :)
thats because Loki has the magic touch. :) I've done allot of the stuff off the tuts and it always comes out as a far lesser version... he either has supreme 'luck' in just falling on the exact right micro settings or incredibly in-depth micro tweaking done with an easy that makes it nearly impossible to tell! lol
Dude, my friend out does me EVERYTIME with FL Studio! How can I get a clear, "in your face" sound like you. My major issue is that my production sounds muddy & I don't know how to separate my mixes. I LOVE reason 4 but feel like I need to go to Logic for better plug-ins and sound. Help, any advice!? Thank you, pitolove71 (channel)
its all about compression and knowing your monitors. Loki also has a mastering suite tutorial that helped me out quite a bit. I've found in my time with reason (since 1.0) that it doesn't like higher frequencies too much. I had a tough time getting punchy that punchy kick and bass, but if you keep playing around with compression and EQ your tunes will come around.
Also sometimes messing with EQ too much can really make your mix sound like its getting worse.
your best shot is to use a sampler and load a suitable patch, either that or a Dr Rex file. Its almost impossible to synthesize a believable sounding guitar so samplers are as close as your going to get.
must say i applaud your generosity, a lot of people (including me!) would be reluctant to give away such tips after many years of learning them solo. great tuts mate, thats for the wisdom!
Just as SinisterBeats said, it would be great if you could show us your hi-tec mastering skills in a nice tutorial! As well as some polishing to the sound.
It's called reason 4 tutorial - mastering. It would have been in the " More From: loki1200" column on the right of the screen while you were watching this video ; )
Yes I've seen that one, but I mean like some really advanced stuff like logic mastering tutorial. I mean the Idunn track is just out of this world! That's some mixing I'd would like to see :)
Chears m8, your the best, keep up the good work well impressed with your beats, could you do more on drums ive seen that tutorial on getting them to sound great but not how you put them together, like what to put where in redrum thanks, Graham.
Sweet, ty 4 tutorial!

There is a sweet sounding lead patch in the combinator patches folder (synth leads) of the Reason soundbank. I think it's called 'Overdrive Lead'
It's got alot of lead guitar qualities, you could have a tweak and see how it goes...

LFO 1/2 -> Filter Frequency or Volume
I didn't watch the whole vid but learn how to use LFO's and your production will go up by ten fold
