I made the jacket from black gorilla brand duct tape folded widthwise halfway against itself then stuck layered in rows onto a thick long sleeve shirt that I cut down the front to accommodate a long zipper. I then used scissors to cut a dragon scale pattern along each overlapping row and added buckles to complete the look. The pants were made the same way.

WOW! I love the mechanism! I hope you don't actually ues those though. It's pretty dangerous since they're real scissors. Is there any chance you have designs for the animatronics though? I wish my hands could slide in and out that easily.
