This was a great game in terms of game play and story. The only problem was it was to fucking short, and as a marine you face off against two young Predators then an elite Predator in the middle of the game, but there is no grand face off against a grand Predator at the end. Instead you fight Mr. Wayland who's really an android. Now, I get that he is the real mane villein, but common you never get to be like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Danny Glover, or Adrian Brody (or even Signorine Weaver).

In any case, it's never been said Aliens can't see due to lack eyes...but then again in "Alien" films they hunt like they have eyes. They might use "senes" like smell or body heat, but in "Alien: Resurrection", the Xenomorph facing the Fagbag Scientist w/ a Ponytail ((Irrelevent)). The Xenomorph was following the scientist's movement. Maybe they have "hidden" eyes...cool! @_@

Here are the pros and cons of this game.

Pros - Nice graphics. - Kept the look and sounds of AVP authentic.

Cons - Games way too short. - A 15gig game that should only be 5gigs. - Story and plot is very simple with no suprises. - The whole game feels like a tutorial that introduces you to the world of AVP. - Same old game play with nothing new. - Very limited ammo and map area. - No replayability.

I played the single player part of the game so if you like multiplayer you might find it a better game than me as i don't like multi play because for me it's the same shit different pile and too repeatative. When did I say I played multiplayer? Notice that I wrote "I don't play online either". I don't even have a gold account on Live. I like singleplayer - that's why my favourite two shooters of recent years are Half Life 2 and Bioshock - the RPG elements of the latter, incidently, are the weakest and least enjoyable part of it.

If I'm reading you correctly though I think you're right: singleplayer is increasingly neglected in FPS. Left 4 Dead is case in point. Roll on HL2 Episode 3

I used to play Quake between networked PCs, also Goldeneye vs on the N64, but playing FPS games against randoms online holds no appeal to me. I'd prefer a singleplayer game with a story. That's why I like games like the Halflife series - it's not just run'n'gun, but it's still action-oriented. I guess it was a little optimistic to imagine that the new AVP might be comparable in those terms
