  • hey mike i like your picken, and man you dont have to exsplain your self,or make any appology for any thing,i think your talent speaks for it self . i did a little of that up gradeing on my 1979 d28 and can realy tell a difference, but still havent got the sustaining trebbles i am looking for, some body suggested a fatter type gibson type fretts . what do you think,i mean its real ivory nut, sadle, bridge pins, scalloped braces. i am not for sure if i know the advantage between the two types of sadle

  • very smooth. you've put alot of practice in i can tell ;)

  • The B part is confussing on your lead solo. Are you sure you're playing Cherokee Shufle?

On the rhythmm i hear Cherokee Shuffle.

All and all, great solid picking and great sound!

  • yes i'm playing cherokee shuffle but what you have to understand is that i don't play anything exactly like someone else may have played it. i like to come up with my own rendition of songs so that i'm not copying anyone elses style of playing. besides, it's not too much fun to play something exactly like someone else.i told someone one time that we already have a tony rice why don't you develope your own style of playing?it's futile to try to play as good as tony anyway.

  • Sweet!

  • Beautiful cover man. Is that a Martin? Sounds like one hell of a guitar. Keep the vids coming.

  • it is a martin hd28 that i'm playing.i've done some modifications to it along the way.i put a long vintage sadle in it and also put bone bridge pins in it. it also has a bone nut. i shaved the braces down a bit myself also. i put open back waverly tuners on it and a greven pick guard for cosmetic purposes.other than that, i use a tortoise shell pick.the guitar was built in 2005.thanks for you kind words, by the way.

  • I finally broke down and went and bought a Martin (I'm a poor college kid so it was a big move for me). Its the D16GT so it's nowhere NEAR that HD28, but it beats the heck out of the plastic box I'd been playing for ten years. I keep coming back to this video for inspiration on my flatpicking. Its clean, and original, and well-constructed. Thanks again for posting. Happy Holidays.

  • Great cover man! I've been working on this tune for 3 days now.
