Arabs have a great attachement with horses , so are Mongols and Red Indians , but Arabs are not NOMADS like the other two , we once ruled the world , and have a great rich history , the Middle East has the richest history in the world , almost all great Civalizations were born here , at this movie they tried to make Arabs look like simple nomads wich is not true. Red indians are simple nomads , also mongols , but not Arabs

Love this film!! The horse playing Hidalgo is so beautiful!

Love the end, have done the exactly same thing with my pony in a 1 swedish mile race, I was between me and a swedish halfblood. We was 60 meters behind the other when it was 1 km left, I gave her the let loose command and she gave it all she got, we past the other and won the race with 10 meter to the other. My pony was a crossbreed between norwegian fjord, welsh and arabian and she is really fast and strong!

An Arab would never say, 'Your horse is too small'. Arabian horses are small, often under 14.2 hands (4 inches to a hand), which is considered pony sized, but a true Arabian is all horse. Mustangs have Arab blood through the Spanish horses via the Moorhish invasions.

(Sadly, many Arab horses in the US today look, act, and move like part Saddlebreds. Arab X Saddlebred crosses can be wonderful horses, but an Arab should look, act, and move like an Arab.)

This really wasn't a true story. Why Disney said it was, I don't know. There WAS the guy , there WAS Hidalgo, but they DIDN'T go in the arab race. They never even went to Arabia. WHat they did was go on a TRAIL RIDE, (Not a race) from Texas to some other state which was a 1800 mile ride. It took 30 days.
