  • @terryrodcrz Toni Braxton has it, Seal, Snoop Dogg's daughter has it. If I was a celebrity I would be an awareness machine. I wish these people would talk about it!

  • @switchbeyotch Yes you are right. Toni Braxton goes to funraisers from time to time but does not spend the necessary time devoted to it. And Snoop dog did make a few appearances at first but I haven't really seen him anymore. Perhaps he doesn't want to burden his little girl with the added stress of making appearances and such. Howie from the Backstreet Boys really raised a lot of awareness for his late sister. It is more common than we think.

  • I wish everyone would watch this video.

  • Mines is inacrive right now, although I get tired alot. and I do have a rash on my arm.

  • HAI FOLKS, TAKE THE CUE AND START ACTING. INCREASE FRUITS AND VGES , REDUCE TRANS FATS, REDUCED FRIED FOODS, INCREASE SLEEPING TIME, REDUCE TV TIME, STAY AWAY FROM FAST FOODS AND PROCESSED FOODS.

TRY A FULL COMPLEMENT OF FOOD SUPPLEMENTS TO STAY HEALTHY.

    DR.SOMA, MALAYSIA

  • @SOMASUNDRAM100 this is kind of ignorant. I am not taking the responsibility for my autoimmune disease - no matter what I eat or how little I sleep.

  • @SOMASUNDRAM100 actually u are right about eating healthy but that still doesnt stop the disease if u are dignose with it u can can still get the disease no matter with u eat

  • @SOMASUNDRAM100 that is so true but its so hard to keep up

  • a "Michael J Fox" for Lupus????????? I can't believe she just said that, ugh. Evidently us ordinary citizens aren't good enough to be spokespersons.

  • @wowoak Sadly, a lot of people aren't fasinated with us simple folk. Had Micheal Jackson spoken up or say Anna Nicole Smith before they let drugs overtake them, then perhaps there'd be more awareness. JMHO.

  • Sheeet two yearso of chemo!!!, ive just started this shit i dont want my hair to get any thinner KMT ¬_¬

  • Chemo for Lupus scares me, I don't think I would be brave enough to take chemo unless I definitely had cancer, although lupus makes you very sick.

  • @MOONDREEMZ

I am 26 year old mother of one and I have been living with lupus since 2004 and I have never heard of chemo as an option. I have my bad days like everyone else but I also have my good days as well. Keep your head up and always look for the good. No offense but its those that play victim that tend to get worse faster and stay that way. Life is to short and you have to much to live for to worry. Worrying never changed anything put it in Gods hands he will see you through

  • @98ablekoolaid Yeah Chemotherapy is a form of treatment,it's not for everyone but for those of you that have had positive outcomes from Chemo and Lupus great. For me it didn't work and i was on Chemo for 2 years as well. Hated it so much, but i kept reminding myself that it's going to try and help me in the long run with the Illness.I was 24 when i was diagnosed i'm now 27.

    4 years here too

  • I have lupus (SLE) and other health issues. All I can say is that I am grateful to know what I am up against. God is awesome and without Him I would not be doing as well as I am.

  • @HisQueenJames wats god got to do with lupus>?

  • @jacobm8tysek God has EVERYHING to do with lupus if you know the power of faith and prayer in healing. I am no longer walking around feeling like an idiot because of the length of time it took to validate what I was experiencing. Now that the problem has been identified, I can go forth turning my trials and tests in to testimonies to empower others in various endeavors. I am not pain free but I have been medicine free for almost 2 years, which is more than most lupus sufferers can say.

  • @HisQueenJames good for you but God also works thru the hands of doctors. And although medicines are not good in excess, they are sometimes the only hope in addition to faith. This coming from a fellow Christian.

  • @terryrodcrz I'm a nurse with Lupus. I know exactly what you mean. The key to it is finding a doctor who will listen your questions and concerns, which is sometimes difficult to find.

  • @terryrodcrz Except that autoimmune diseases occur in other mammals besides humans. Tens of thousands have died at the hands of doctors through missed diagnosis, botched operations, and hospital acquired infections ( nosocomial infections ).

  • @HisQueenJames That's because Lupus spontaneously goes into remission. At some point, it will probably relapse. There is a presumptive test for Lupus called Anti-nuclear Antibody ( ANA ) test. Faith and Prayers are of very little advantage mainly through the placebo effect experienced by some patients. Different suffers of Lupus suffer due to different gene variations, immune system competence, and the initial mechanism(s) that triggered the development of Lupus.

  • My mother has Lupus. It's great that they're spreading awareness. I hope anyone who has Lupus feels better.

  • please dont thumbs down this comment but i was wondering if you could get rid of lupus and do it put sores on your body?

  • It doesn't have a cure. And I'm not sure about the sores

  • @butterflysparkle98 it can put sores all over your body. That was one of my main issues for 4 years. Nothing worked. One day they just started healing and I have only seen a few here and there since then.

  • it's not lupus.

  • Thank you for posting this video.

  • One of my best friends has Lupus. She's only 16. I wish that there was something I could do for her besides make awarness videos. Good video.

  • Look on Google Video for "Sabrina Nelson cures auto-immune disease relapsing polychondritis with diet" which is also a form of Lupus. Basically going Vegan which means NO meat and dairy products can help cure Lupus. I know its hard to believe but its true!.. Your friend is young, she needs all the help she can get to enjoy her youth...

  • i am 14.

    my mom had lupus.

    she passed b/c of it.

    she was 41

    i was 13 my sister was 17

    IT IS SEIOUS.

  • Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear this. I was diagnosed in 2003. I hope you and your sister are okay.

  • I have Lupus. Diagnosed at age 14.

  • Good for you! Thanks for informing us about Lupus! Sheila Shaw survived Lupus, which knocked out her kidney function. She teaches all about taking control of your life despite living with chronic illness. I have talked with so many Lupus patients who all said that their Lupus flared out at the most stressful point in their lives. This was Sheila's case as well. It seems to be that keeping stress to a minimum would help with preventing it. We applaud Kelly, the doctor, and Good Morning America!

  • My cousin has lupus too. She is widowed and has 3 kids. She is scared that she is going to die before her daughters are old enough to care for themselves.

  • Look on Google Video for "Sabrina Nelson cures auto-immune disease relapsing polychondritis with diet" which is also a form of Lupus. Basically going Vegan which means NO meat and dairy products can help cure Lupus. I know its hard to believe but its true!..

  • I have a syster six kids... same problem

    Terrible situacion.

  • But.... it's never lupus!

  • I am one who has lupus. One of the minority males. I know what it is like to be run down and have joint pain and the like. I appaud all who help with the Lupus Foundation.

  • Try to find a good doctor of chinese medicine. I really believe it helps to combine ordinary treatment with acupuncture etc... Get well soon!

  • It's never lupus.

  • -sometimes it is Lupus.

Get into the loop for Lupus. As a Lupus patient who was diagnosed at 15, I was given 5 years... that was 25 years ago. I got in the loop and now I create YouTube videos to raise Lupus Awareness and Outreach. Be Well.

  • In the search box type in: LUPUS AWARENESS INFOMERCIAL. Comment on it if u like. TELL ALL!!!

  • I have Lupus and have had it since the age of 5. In other words I have had it for over 40 years. This is a pretty good video.

  • good video..i wish that i saw it on tv, i have lupus too

  • this was a great video...very informative...I also have lupus

  • I was diagnosed with Lupus in Nov. 2004.

  • I think I have Lupus but a negative ANA test result left my rheumatologist to say no it isn't Lupus- he says it is fibromyalgia- I don't buy that diagnosis. I have family with autoimmune diseases- including Lupus. Great video!

  • I am told that your ANA factor can be effected by the use of any anti-inflammatories and ALSO that it can take a while for your anti-nuclear factor to be indicative of LUPUS and you may already be exhibiting some of the symptoms. Keep in mind also that many people suffer from BOTH lupus and fibro. In my family this is not uncommon. Try your best to be happy and as stress free as possible. Goodluck.

  • Great video! I have lupus also and this was a great video for awareness.

  • I have lupus.
