Dave Gahan testified in a recent interview that he looks back to the days of old and feels quite "embarrassed" by the glittery, googly personna that DM was founded upon. In my opinion, those days were more imaginative and soul piercing than the latter days. Gahan's more prone to the modern day "rockstar" image he thrives upon

I think Martin did a great job in making this song his own especially this performance! Would also have like to hear Dave sing the song also, but that might be to hard to play this since Alan was a big part of this song and is gone.
