To hell with ya'll, I'm the greatest Trees fan :))) Kiddin' , but I sure feel like I said... Trees are one of those timeless bands, not associated with any kind of hype, just like entire grunge was... Don't get me wrong, during those turbulent, decadent, dyin' days, I wuz plain crazy for all of 'em, PJ, AiC, SG, etc, but today, only Trees remained on my daylie playlists, while i got dead tired of classic anthems of those great names mentioned above...
in its prime days this band was notorious for drinking and fighting. which by the sound of their music compared to those of their surrounding bands i never would have anticipated. of all things i would have expected them to be more at peace with each other.
hot damn this song still rocks, even after all these years....these guys are my parents Led Zeppelin. dare I go that far? sure, howdy. I fuckin love them more now than ever. especially this song. carry on :)
I wouldn't know how to properly describe such an amazing song, one of the Trees' best, I believe. It's propulsive, it makes me lurch forward, bang my head, scream in thanks for rock n' roll!
It's all around great, but from 2:36 onwards it just murders me, the superb groove, the dark feel, the twange of the backing guitar, the eastern feel of the main riff and Mark's voice screaming out from beneath the depths of a smoke and whiskey filled trapdoor!
I retain my mix tapes from 92-96 and now my mix cds!! Its a special thing to do for friends, family or any loved ones!!
An ipod is a distraction a mix tape or cd is a real present!! Full of emotion and feeling forever to cherish!!
I love getting albums signed by bands if i get a chance to meet them!! Got some Kyuss, Brant Bjork stuff that I will keep for my personal memories of hanging out and having a drink with idol friends :)
No. They aren't in my opinion. It's weird, cuz I see Pearl Jam as a fantastic band with tons of great songs to enjoy. Even if some of them take a few listens to really appreciate, yet for every person that likes them there is one who doesn't like them at all. Screaming Trees definitely deserved more recognition though.
this is the shit! awesome stuff

It's too bad that this band didn't make it as big as some of the other grunge bands. Far better than Pearl Jam......

Your point is well taken. I just could never warm up to Eddie Veders voice. But that's why we can chose to listen to what we want. Rock on!!
