One thing that 80's and early 90's had was diversity in styles of music, now there is not as much out there has it used to be since all the Big record companies bought out all the smaller independant ones unfortunetely....
@BelgianMusic It's cool to look at the past to enjoy, but we must revolutionise music to be appreciated now. We need a new energy & create stuff that will be appreciated 20 years from now, unless we will always be looking back in awe at the 80's & 70's. We need new pioneers.
First time I heard this song was on tape and it was recorded by someone from the 45 rpm single but on the wrong rotational speed (33rpm)... way too slow.
It last almost 10 years before I noticed that mistake :-)
Front 242's best LP. The rythim section is incredible. 80's flower power. LOL This song is a testament to European kids fear of the nuclear holocaust during the Cold War. "Gigantic flowers"
Moved to the Chicago area because of Wax Trax at age 18. Hadn't seen this video in over a decade. Front 242s' brand of what was coined " industrial" is still very relevent in techno, electro, tech-house, etc. circles today.
Strong use of synths with expert beat editing. The horn riffs in the background were great samples to use! Ahead of it's time, those Front 242 men were!
yes I totally agree! I saw them play here in Dallas way back in 1991 I believe it was. Lol I remembered the mosh pit was so crazy I lost one of my brand new shoes and broke a toe! Damn I remember that hurt for a long time!
I used to get this shit through the mail on cassette tape, via wax trax records and another label i cant remember. This was a Fantastic record and it's amazing how the techn ologoy they used to make doesnt sound dated like so much other 80's synth, i didnt follow the scene for too long, but Front 242, Skinny Puppy and Front Line Assembly KMFDM,ruled my life from 84-90 and it was the best.
Movies,Music,Porn, the 80's Ruled for many reasons,Industrial music was another.
nothing beats EBM/industrial / electronica music. even new industrial/electro acts are still better than the stuff we usually hear on the radio these days. this music is my culture, its my life.
@tool619 I just don't know any bands after late 90's who are actually really outstanding in any way, I mean, in what would be considered EBM/industrial. That's why it didn't stand out as a genre with time. Psytrance, trance, new metal, and other genres got the best elements of the underground electronic of the 80/90's, and most of the remaining EBM/industrial stuff was boring underproduced stuff.
Or does anyone have a good example of an excelent EBM-like artist from the last decade??
I guess the 80's were so good musically, especially in Europe, is that there was so much background tension what with the wall & the old CCCP. @RavenousNow You're right, in modern days the so called industrial-movement is all about listening to the same music everyone else does, dressing like everyone else does, etc. It does not differ from the "mainstream" at all, at least from these aspects.

That little person reminds me of the lil person from the south park when stan's dad says the n-word and cartman fights the midget oh god so hilarious.
Whatever I'll do what I want he does look like the midget who says "words are like bullets " check it out I don't think I mentioned them in the same sentence did I ? who cares funny episode though.
I saw Front 242 when they opened for Depeche Mode in a small venue in Germany back in the 80's. That was the first time I heard of them and have loved them ever since. They also played a lot of Front 242 in a club called The Flash in Kaiserslaturen, Germany that I always went to. Brings back awesome memories!

I love F242, great music, and their vids are always weird in a cool way. Would love to see them live once..
