Tu baru lihat yang wajib, tak lihat yang tradisional lagi.. orang orang melayu, jika ada majlis perkahwinan mau riuh sekampung. Best sangat2, tambah apabila datangnya
hhaha daisyngary im a muslim and when you get married you have to ask for something....so my father asked for $1...ahhahah but the mala said it has to be higher so he made it $7 that's just traditions not so much as a religious thing really!! because if the father doesn't ask for anything then it basically implies that his daughter is not worthy or wants to get rid of her.....in your eyes its the other way around!!! but my dad liked my in laws so thats why he didn't want to give them a burden!
@besefki Islam doesn't cause burden.. therefore 'mahar' or 'mas kawin' is all up to the groom and, agreed by the bride. Even an ayat from a surah can be given as mahar or al-Quran (during akad nikah / solemnization). It is a religion thing, not just some culture. Different from Dowry - gifts - or the Malay called it 'hantaran', that's more of cultural thing, where the groom usually give few thousand of dollars besides other gifts such as jeweleries/make-up set/watch/etc...
yes they do zoroastians have a lot in common with muslims they pray five times a day, they wash before they pray, and they almost even pray the same way muslims pray but the thing is they were doing this 3000years before islam even existed.
Is he asking for 1000 something in cash to give away his daugter? I'm not bagging out, tha is just what i thought ive heard and i don't know much about islam.
The 'mahar' is a type of dowry that the groom has to pay to the bride. The 1000 Malaysian Ringgit (approx US$300) in cash belongs to the bride, not her father. It is not a fixed amount (although there's a minimum of RM80) but is pre-agreed before the ceremony.
alhamduliilah. nothing more beautiful than nikah ceremony. alhamdulillah in western society (esp. usa where im from) people run from marriage..in islam we run and crave marriage...one of the many signs islam is the truth..salaam alaikum to you all..may allah bless this marriage. peace (positive energy always combats evil)
lol anyone watching this should not misunderstand...the bride is usually in the other room...the vows are read differently in islamic weddings thats all..thought id mention it incase some1 gets the wrong idea with all the men being sat in the room!
In Islam there is no black, white or what ever race you are. We are all brothers in submission to God. That is it. I accepted Islam 6 month ago and it is the best thing I ever known. I love it. Allah wakbar.

They're not, but can you please elaborate why they 'look' Zoroastrian?
Do Zoroastrians have the same marriage ceremony too?

Thanks for enlightening me.
Although I disagree with your comment that Islam didn't exist 3000 years ago, I'd leave that subject for another day.
Thanks again.
