I've been using windows XP for the past ten years and it's only BSOD'd once, and that was from the computer overheating due to it being on WAY too long. And being too dusty. Always remember to clean your computer.
Switch to Linux? If Linux was mainstream instead of Windows, instead of "BSOD", we'd be dealing with "Kernel Panic" and we'd still be complaining that it happens all the time. That and that every time five bytes are changed in a program we'd have to download the entire damn thing all over again.
I like how people like to blame their computer for all the problems they have. If they knew some basics on how to maintain a computer then they would have very few problems. Keeping all your software updated with the latest patches helps and running the maintenance programs periodically helps keep everything running smooth.
its still fun i use windows and linux and for no reason my linux laptop just crashed and my windows only had 1 bluescreen ever because my power was to low so my graphicscard gave me a hardware problem so never 1 problem with the software both windows and linux are perfect only you need to learn how they work
its not the soft or hardware that makes mistakes only the people that use them or program them
That's why they sucked so badly against the borg, because borg were using linux and untill 7 of 9 was brought back along with janeway, starfleet was propably drowning with BSOD!!!
The holodecks still use the Windows OS, that's why they had so many episodes when the damned things went horribly wrong. Although they never bluescreened, which is odd.
@Uberdude25 Honestly i don't know why so many people complain about blue screens, ive had my win7(and the computer itself is 5 years old) here for over a year now and i literally haven't seen a single blue screen. Honestly, if you you have so many blue screens you simply have screwed up your computer.
@Uberdude25 Running Win7 for over 2 years with not a single blue screen. You probably have bad RAM, Graphics card or motherboard. The blue screens give you an error code for a reason. Search the error code and that will likely point you in the right direction.
How in the world did you do this? You even got Data's reflection in the screen complete with facial expressions..... WAIT A MINUTE.... windows is so frustrating that it even brings out emotion in Data!
every time i see this i think that, instead of the blue screen of death, it should be one of those pages that says "verify that you are human" haha XD
@TheSecretdahlia: Interesting, but would be very discriminatory against the Vulcans, Betazoids, Bajorans, Bolians and all other races in the Federation. I don't think Starfleet would allow that security update to be installed in their ships!
Windows 7 has made the blue screen a thing of the past. I have not once seen a blue screen with it on any machine. And it is at least more resistant to viruses than XP was.
Best fucking thing I've ever seen! That is exactly how I felt from windows 95 - Winjunk7. But since it was microsoft's idea oh well what can I say. We users are idiots for trusting this shit of a company time and time again!
I have a Mac now because of this =) Mac OSX isn't totally bug free and super perfect like the Mac junkies would like you to believe, but it works way more stable then Windows. Petty I can't play all the cool games on it without switching it to Windows. Insert Xbox solves that problem
@waitingforacentury: You're right, you're right. Each their own. Besides that the Starfleet were probably running Windows XP or 98... hahah... I like this anyways hahah
@ASPfilms Well I'll tell you something, we are getting closer and closer to having actual "padds" that we see on Star Trek. The iPad is like 2 steps away from being exactly what is portrayed on TNG.
Well this is not Data i think ... this must be from the Episode where Lore (Datas brother) is reaktivated and is tring to contact this big Kristall which killed all colonists on this planet where Federation found Data.
This must be the scene where the Enterprise crew stops Lore by powering off the console in a freightroom he is using.
For this youtubevideo someone inserted a bluescreen .. well done :) nice:).
Close. It's the episode where those "spirits" take control of Data, Troi, and Obrien posing as long dead star ship captains, but then they end up to be prisoners that were separated from their bodies or something.
Took me a minute to figure out which episode this was, but it's the one where Dr. Soong summoned Data to him for the whole emotion chip thing, I think it is anyway.
