-a muscle car is a car with a big, loud engine inside of it, but the car is bulky & broad, not aerodynamic & sleek. muscle cars are good for 0-60mph times, but not top speed or 1/4 mile without mods. muscle cars also weigh A LOT MORE than super cars.
-super cars are the opposite; they have aerodynamic bodies, engines designed for speed, not noise, & they are good for top speed, 1/4 miles, & have amazing 0-60mph times. the cars are also MUCH lighter than muscle cars.

Muscle cars were built for the 1/4 mile since the 60's. There geared for it, and have the torque to get off the line for it. Modern muscle cars such as the 2011 5.0 Mustang are built to handle and run the quarter, so well in fact that they run with a $60,000+ BMW M3.
Supercars are built for handling, top speed, horsepower and looks. There geared for top speed not quarter miles. The only reason some of them run decent quarters is because of the hp they come with stock.

@yuskjr, idk..personally.. my camaro with less than about 1k worth of mods in it runs 5.4 0-60 time, (not sure of exact 1/4 mile time due to lack of a drag strip where i live.. The elevation is 1189ft above sea level which also slows it down a bit..not sure of the exact formula to find out what it could do 0-60 at 500 or less elevation. Also, i'de take the GT500.. mod the hell out of it and have a faster car for 50k less then the ford GT. imo..supercars are over-rated for the $
