@lucasregan1986 The man holding the camera was Jules Naudet. He was filming a documentary on the life of firefighters and Antonio Benetatos was one of his friends who was a rookie firefighter. They were investigating a gas leak when this was filmed, and the first impact occured.
Not sure exactly what you're asking, but they were so heavily damaged that they had to be demolished; same with a lot of other surrounding buildings and the Cortland St. subway stop that ran directly underneath the complex. According to them, the only building that sustained significant damage but was rebuilt instead of demolished was the Millenium Hotel, to the east of 5 WTC. IDK if that's true but that's why they say.

What are the odds? Obviously in the case of WTC2 the conditions were different, as lots of cameras were up filming the towers.

Omg, :o Thats so scary to see and think that a couple of years back there were 2 tall towers standing there, before some priks decided that they were gonna destroy something (Towers) in a popular city (NY) that has a lot of people in working (WTC) thats why they did it to Ny because they knew that there were lots of people there a LOADS of people in the WTC. The firefighters were there filming a documentary about there everyday life . its true ive seen the whole documentary . its a shame that this was one of the very very few shots of this terrible moment.

@elwaybeliever yeah thats right it was a report gas leak or something. they blocked the street for that reason, but unknown to them at the time a few seconds later there was of course the begining of 9/11. its as if there was a warning from the man above telling the firefighters something was kicking off. RIP and god bless to the firefighters and victims of that awful day

@lucasregan1986 It was a gas leak..The camera crew was there to film the first 6 months of a new firefighter. Sorry dude...No cover up. Try watching documentaries. There is a 2 hours DVD about this new rookie. It just happened to be on 9/11

@lucasregan1986 The man holding the camera was Jules Naudet. He was filming a documentary on the life of firefighters and Antonio Benetatos was one of his friends who was a rookie firefighter. They were investigating a gas leak when this was filmed, and the first impact occured.

Not sure exactly what you're asking, but they were so heavily damaged that they had to be demolished; same with a lot of other surrounding buildings and the Cortland St. subway stop that ran directly underneath the complex. According to them, the only building that sustained significant damage but was rebuilt instead of demolished was the Millenium Hotel, to the east of 5 WTC. IDK if that's true but that's why they say.

Although...since many people lost many loved ones that day and to see the building rebuild.....that could cause a emotional out-break with angry mothers,fathers who lost their child(red), sisters and brothers lost lost parents,etc. And can you imagine how much it will be to rebuild those buildings? there huge! so the cost will be breath-taking. So not really a good idea but it is something to think about I guess.

@spideyownz i actually had the same exact thought. i live and was borned here in nyc. and i kind of think that too. i mean the first bomb for wtc was a epic fail.. it blew out only the garage which did no damage to the towers. the 2nd attack was major. the biggest rescue mission out of firefighting history. the freedom towers.. its possible that any terrorism will attack... luckily the empire state building is standing tall for skyscrapers.
