  • yes gilgit and baltistan are part of northern areas of kashmir

  • This sounds very much like turkish or kurdish. I have many many kurdish/turkish friends and when they listen to this they think it sounds like their language

  • The Kashur language is extremely close to Rigvedic Sanskrit. Kashmir is a great center of learning and culture and has produced great persons. latest was Pandit Nehru.

  • Beautiful places, Innocent People. This is Indian Kashmir.

  • @babaaj

LOL. What other Kashmir is there? This is REAL KASHMIR.....POK is Mirpuri and Jammu is Dogra. Kashmir is only the VALLEY- Srinagar, Baramulla, Sopore, Gandarbal- all of which is with India. The other regions in J&K/POK are neither Kashmiri in culture/language /ethnicity nor know anything abt Kashmir.

  • @babaaj

EWWWW, I don't speak/type in that Ugly Bhaiya (Urdu-Purdu) language......and regarding what u typed abt that shit that Paki-LUND has....Who cares! Your shithole will be divided up very soon:)

  • @Anotherkashmiri

    I am Indian [Bhartiya]!~

  • @babaaj

There is only ONE kashmir and that is the VALLEY. These other parts are NOT Kashmir, but were lumped with kashmir by these dogras for administrative purposes.

  • @Anotherkashmiri What about the Gilgit-Baltistan region? Is that also apart of Kashmir?

  • @IndianBhagwan1

That is all part of Greater Punjab...or better yet, Jammu/Himachal Pradesh (as they are culturally and linguistically very similar, if not the same)

  • @Anotherkashmiri hey do you understand a word they are saying??

  • wow 1st time i listen very nise song of kashmir ....khobam kashmiri bandri

  • SUPER!!! Very original and unusual for Southern Asia - mixed (man and woman) chorus. Dard music is very interest for me!

  • one of the best kashmiri song i had ever listen

  • great band!

  • great song can not understand it but the tune and singers are excellent. I am told that this language is close to the rigvedic period sanskrit. my language is Punjabi (which is also derived from Sanskrit) yet both these languages though have a common base like most Indian languages are still quite different. this is our india.

  • Beautiful representation of Kashmiri culture ! I wish people get back to those happy days singing songs about love and brotherhood before God.

  • Firstly Thankyou for posting this...what a pleasure too see...Secondly and more importantly All INDIANS AND PAKISTANIS are the same and I am sick of them laying claim to OUR LAND!!! Your faces have turned BLACK because of all the shit you have thrown at each other for all these years. WE DO NOT belong to INDIA or PAKISTAN...WE want to BE FREE!!!! from all double-moralled, lying, cheating, corrupt MUSLIM and HINDU PEOPLES! GO EFF OFF!!! You WILL NEVER Inherit the BEAUTY of the KASHMIRI'S!!!

  • kashmir is not a part of india.. those who support kashmir's accession to india can go to hell, we did not sacrifice 100,000 lives to hear that we are indians. even british ruled india, that didn't make indians british. almost everyday people are getting killed by indian occupational forces and we are using every single drop ofour blood to drag indians outta kashmir. inshallah kadokh khakhre nebar..

  • @touqeercon

Seconded. Some people will believe anything to hold on to their prejudices and biases.

  • The lead lady in red pheran does deserve special kudos! beautiful!

  • My favourite Video

  • On this one I agree (Anantnag means unending spring) most Kashmiris are the purest of Aryans. Might add Koshur is related to Rigvedic Sanskrit in depth. Example Cana (your) is only found in Vedic Sanskrit. Religion is a different factor most of us follow Islam now. We liked Islam (a Semitic religion) thus converted to Islam. Most of us have Hindu origins.

  • absolutely beautiful and classic kashmiri culture is apart from indian and pakistani this kind of music and videos will preserve this unique music what is this singers name

  • very nice song i enjoyed it. I am from Poonch AJK and my mother language is Poonchi or Pahari people from mirpur koti sehnsa etc etc speak Pothohari wihich is regional language of kashmir. I agree to Mr. dreadedscorpion keshore is the Central language of kahmir.

  • Sanskrit is the mother of all Aryan languages. Note for Anantnag (An=Un), (Ant=End),

    (Nag=Spring). Result Unendingspring (Anantnag).

  • I have nothing to prove as I am well known. But let me mention I am a proud Muslim and a proud Aryan. My country is secular India and my ethnicity pure Kashmiri. Rest I damn care.

  • Young women, young men, Moulvi sahab, Buzarag, lanch Mokdam and every one sitting in one room singing and flirting...... Well i seriously doubt whether this was our kashmiri culture.....

  • @shiekhtm, at least some thoughful comment

  • @shiekhtm only a taleban would make such an observation...go bomb your own homes and leave our culture as we want to practice it

  • Will some one kindly let me know if there are any more songs of this troupe available as dvd anywhere?

  • A beautiful song,excellent music genuine Kashir boys & girls,Congrats

  • very good

  • Kashmiri (koshur) is an Aryan language easy to understand it if you know Sanskrit. I lived in Kashmir and studied this region. The Rajataringini a 12 century A.D. classic is probably the best history of any region of Aryavarta (abode of Aryans). A great Sanskrit classic.

  • Kashmiri is an Aryan language spoken mainly in the Vale of Kashmir and its vicinity. Very close to Sanskrit. For example Mine (is Mein in Kashmiri), short (is shut in Kashmiri, Name (is Nav in Kashmiri), Badname (Badnaam) in Kashmiri, Feet (Pad) and so on. After Islam arrived in the valley the Kashmiri spoken by us Muslims has picked up some Arabic words as well.

  • @Wani400, you are not a muslim but a hindu from your heart.

  • @Wani400 Dear Wani Sahib,Sanaskrit itself is one of the Indo Germanic languages, regarding your examples:Mine(Eng.)mean (Kas) is Mein in German too,Name=Nav= Namen, now listen jawohl so common with rural kashmiris is also with Germans particularly villagers.Dardic languages have many such instances.of commonality with Kashmiri.Anyway whatever it is ,it is my mother tongue!

  • Islam a great Semitic religion appeared on our globe in the 7th century. The original name Anantnag (An in Sanskrit an Aryan language, translates to Un in English), it just means an unending spring. After Islam came to Kashmir this City was referred to as Islamabad by some Muslim people.

  • Mashallah It is very nice and famyiliere video

  • A great Kashmiri Song. Though the lead singer is not a Kashmiri but a Gujar. Also most of the audience are Gujars, while all other singers are Kashmiris. Enjoyable.

    Aslam Wani

    Anantnag

  • Ananatnag??....Dont distort History for god Sake ....Place is Islamabad........

  • @shahh786

The original name of the place has been ANANTNAG....its name was changed with the islamic conquest of kashmir.

Looks to me like YOU are the one changing history pal!

  • @peacealways100 Agreed in totality. The truth is even modern Kashmiri is very close to Rigvedic Sanskrit. Rigvedic Sanskrit is the mother of all Indo-European (Aryan) languages.

  • How can u tell?

Example, i dont look typically kashmiri (or what is accepted as typically kashmiri), i have brown skin and a more roundish nose, my family members are a mix of different looks.

I see many kashmiri pandits who are brown skinned as well, the whole fair skin and hook nose doesnt apply to all kashmiris, i'm kashmiri and i dont have that look.

  • @mcjustiz

In Kashmir I could never tell between Pandits and Muslims because Muslims were Pandits who converted into Islam. And Pandits originally are supposed to have been Israeli (Jewish) tribe. If u want to know what standard look of KashPandits is, just look at Indira Gandhi's younger pictures. I wonder if u know that Nehru was Kashmiri pandit- his daughter married a NON-kashmiri;hence, became Gandhi.

Anupam Kher, actor Raaj Kumar (from 1960s) and Bhajan Sopori are some other KashPandits.

  • atleast one ok shot kashmiri song..its a start people.

  • @quixtla

This language is Keshore (Kashmiri) ..... the real language of Kashmiris and spoken in the vale of Kashmir ..... those in the UK are mostly from Mirpur .... Kashmiris there speak a mixture of Punjabi/Potoari ..... not standard Keshore ..... I myself am Pakistani Kashmiri .... but my family originally migrated from Baramula ...... and they all speak Keshore

  • Hey same here, mums side were from baramullah and dads side from srinagar, both sides reside in punjab and some in azad kashmir now.

Sad, i wish i could speak koshur ma elders didnt bother teaching us :(.

  • @dreadedscorpion Hey, me too, my mums family came from baramullah and ma dads family are from srinagar, but since they have all moved to punjab and azad kashmir.

People dont understand us Kashmiris never shun or forget our roots no matter where in the world we move to!

  • @dreadedscorpion

True that these Mirpuris from Kotli, Muzaffarabad and other parts of Azad Kashmir junkyard are NOT kashmriis. In fact, Azad kashmiris was technically part of Punjab and Not Kashmir, but was annexed by Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Kashmiri people are from the Valley and speak in Koshur language (which is nothing like Punjabi, Dogri, Gujjar, Pahari or Mirpuri). The Indians and Pakis have NO knowledge about Kashmiris. They should stick to their own culture instead of delving into ours.

  • @dreadedscorpion Aath Chi wanan agar ne panan koker badh aasi bei sendis moorris keyazi travi toohl.

  • @dreadedscorpion

im a pakistani kashmiri, my family migrated from baramullah, sopore. are you lone by any chance.....we mite be related lol

  • goes to my favorites kewl ;)

  • ok i don't understand this song, but it is beautiful it's very catchy. i am surprised that the majority of Kashmiris in the uk don't speak or sing in this language. this language sounds much more respectable than Patoari or the mirpuri kashmiri which i can understand. I am Bangladeshi myself and this sounds better to my ears than even Urdu!

  • zoon tarak intizaras.....awesome song...i jst luvd it....

  • Awesome Kashur Song.....I luve it....muzic nd lyrics are very nice....

  • khatoone in kurdish we say to the girls and to what in hindi is khatoon ?

  • indians call women aurat i think, but it depends where in india as there are many diff languages.

i think khatoon is used mainly by urdu speakers.

  • @MCJustiz yes we call women AWRAT to

  • Some other Kashmiri Pandits include: - Jawaharlal Nehru -indira Gandhi (married NONkashmiri) -Rohit Bal - Rameshwar Nath kao - Neel Kashkari - A.K.Hangal - Jeevan (villain in old hindi movies) - Kiran Kumar (Dhar) - Hari Kunzru - Sudha Kaul (kashmiri writer) -Even Sheikh Abdullah's grandpa was Kashmiri Pandit who converted into Islam! As u must know, Sheikh Abdullah was titled "Sher-E-Kashmir" by all Kashmiris. In kashmir, people do not fight over religion. India-pakistan are STUPID countries.
  • Habba Khatoon was the name of a Kashmiri Muslim POETESS.

It was her NAME and it had NOTHING to do with Khatoon being the word for a woman etc. Habba Khatoon's poetry and songs are held in the highest esteem in the Kashmiri community.

FYI: In kashmiri, the word for a woman is "Zanaana."

    You take care now.

  • You dont need to explain who habba khatoon was or anything about kashmiri language, i am a kashmiri, i know zanana means woman in kashmiri.

And habba khatoon's real name was ZOON, she changed her name after she married yusuf chak shah!

And khatun/hatun/khatoon is like a title given to women of nobility, originally of turkish/persian influence, so no it wasnt her birth name, she changed the name and acquired the title of khatoon along with it!

  • @MCJustiz

    ALL right, thanks.
